It's that time of the year again to revive the portfolio account, and I'm excited to share some festive works that I've been up to! πŸŽ„

What an honour it was to get to work with once again for their Christmas campaign. This year, we went for a more conceptual red theme instead of utilising the cafe space, but the challenge was to keep the props as minimal as possible to let the products shine (without feeling like we were doing a catalog shoot), and I think we nailed it! ❀️ With the backdrop as the primary 'prop' on set, I had a lot of fun pushing the limits to achieve this set of images. ✨

In the spirit of Mid-Autumn Festival (and in typical fashion of how I keep this feed alive), here are some photos from a shoot with that I'm really proud of! The twist? Those are not mooncakes, but rather reimagined versions in the form of mousse cakes. The cakes are floral and fruity in flavour, which is the direction we took with the styling, while essentially approaching the images with a sort of tradition-meets-modernity concept.

National Day's passed but SG60 celebrations are still underway, which means I'm not too late to a National Day related post! ❀️🀍

Here's a little something that I did for 's SG60 menu! We wanted to keep the set simple while using some old skool games and heritage items as props to bring out the nostalgic spirit. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬

No matter how challenging a shoot can be, it could never be as tough as being a mom, so even though I'm a day late, let's be real here - everyday should be a special day for mothers.

To all the moms out there kicking ass on the daily while tirelessly and patiently raising your kiddo(s)/kiddult(s), if you see this, know that you're doing a great job, and Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

A little overdue but here's wishing everyone a huat-filled Lunar New Year filled with prosperity, happiness, peace and love. May it be a smooth sailing one, and if not, may you overcome the obstacles and challenges that come your way, like whenever I need to deal with cloth on shoots. An unexpected Christmas shoot was the one I did for .rochester - combining a KBBQ spread with Christmas elements without feeling too forced, while also retaining the restaurant's visual aesthetic, was certainly a challenge, but we managed to pull it off! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

PS. Santa was a last minute, unserious addition to the shot, and we loved it so much that we kept it πŸŽ…πŸ»

It's the most wonderful time of the year to be sharing about my Christmas projects in 2024! πŸŽ„

Perhaps the most unusual and challenging creative brief I received was , with which I was shown a holographic ticket of a certain major concert that took place this year was used as reference (along with other images and colour wheels, etc, of course πŸ˜†). We approached the series of photos wanting to achieve something that felt 'bling bling' and sparkly, and suffice to say everyone's really proud of the outcome. πŸ’–βœ¨

I love it when I get to push the boundaries of what commercial food photography is understood to be by businesses, and I really so appreciate it when my clients give me their fullest trust to explore what I think is suitable for a specific campaign or project. I truly do hope for the opportunity to work closely and creatively with even more clients, current and new, in the coming year!

Parfaits, cocktails and gorgeously plated dessert make for a night to truly remember. ✨

The reward that comes with every .sg shoot is the opportunity to taste all the dessert (yes, ALL) before they launch, and with the "Nights to Remember 2.0" menu, it's ALL splendidly and rather boldly executed.

One highlight has to be the Laila, AKA the matchaholic's dream. It is packed to the brim with layers (top to bottom) comprising of pΓ’te sablΓ©e, matcha ice-cream, mango pudding, shiratama dango, matcha castella, kinako puff rice, goma soil, mango cream, "Secrets of Singapore" tea cream, and "Secrets of Singapore" namacha jelly. To the ones who tirelessly debate that good matcha equals to robust, bitter and earthy flavour instead of the more commonly found not-cha that's even remotely sweet, you do not want to sleep on this unapologetically rich and intense matcha dessert; it may sound like a lot going on in one dessert (like any parfait is), but trust me, the matcha retains its spotlight with every spoonful. πŸ’š

Fun fact: the night time mood shots were all in actuality captured while the sun was up - oh the joys of artificial lighting. πŸ˜‰

made one of my career dreams of traveling abroad for work come true early when he asked if I would like to shoot for two F&B concepts within . What ensued was two very long but rewarding days of shooting outdoors, with way too many flies electrocuted in the process. πŸ˜‚

Of the slew of photos we had captured for this menu project, the burger hero image was definitely 𝘡𝘩𝘦 highlight for, safe to say, all of us, as Justin styled all 5 burgers in time for the gorgeous golden hour that would contribute that lovely slither of backlighting to the shot. ✨

Mad grateful for the trust that has put in me; definitely anticipating even more opportunities of working together, be it here or abroad! πŸ€™πŸ» Couldn't have done this without the assistance of as well! πŸ™πŸ»

One of the greatest, most invaluable privileges of working as a food photographer is getting to see chefs execute what they are best at, to be very in their zone, and to watch as they show off (and at times explain the nitty gritties that go into their food!) their craft and passion for food. ✨

Had the honour of photographing 's dishes at for his menu last autumn. The accomplished man himself had just achieved another feat in his career: the award for Young Chef of the Year. Well deserved; congratulations Chef! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
