Having a keen interest in Singapore’s built heritage and multicultural society, Wee Liang documents the country through photography for posterity. Often finding himself taking photos such as Architecture, Street Photography and Vintage Cars, he has recently ventured into taking Portraitures and Abstracts. Wee Liang also enjoys sharing his knowledge on the history and urban development of Singapore

, through TikTok, and occasionally on Instagram. His goal is for more locals to be aware of how the country developed to become what it is today and to evoke his audience’s nostalgic memories. The self-taught photographer uses Adobe Lightroom for post-processing of his digital photos, though he primarily takes photos with analogue cameras – with one dating all the way back to 1939. If you ever spot him outside, he’ll most likely be holding a camera in his hands or getting distracted by the sight of dogs.

Built in 1903 as a depot for rickshaws, giving rise to the name ‘Jinrikisha Station’. Pinnacle, which is still Singapore’s tallest public housing building, stands proudly in the background 😎
I’ve got to see some conserved rickshaws at the Heritage Conservation Centre recently through ‘s 2023 tour.

Juxtaposition between the old and new. Here, you can see two different generation of architecture styles, where the older one is mainly built with concrete and small pockets of glass windows while the newer building is clad in glass and steel beams – it is also much taller!
