In Sweden we have a holiday called "Valborg" and usually a bunch of parties are held during the celebration. Of course this year that couldn't be held in my town and so me and my friends went looking for adventures elsewhere.

Now you've already seen the pictures but we went skydiving. Still several days after I feel the feeling I had jumping out of the plane. It is a feeling I've never felt before and it really is a feeling like no other. It was also a little extra extreme because we jumped through a snowstorm (the gray you see in the 5th picture) in suits.

I will definitely jump again and I am considering jumping once more in the summer and for anyone who feels like they want to join me then feel free to fly into my DMs

So this is what I did for easter. Why do I post 2 weeks post-easter you may ask? Well mostly because I'm lazy but time is running short due to studying. Hike was done together with and

It was a good three days out in the forest hiking. Many shanties were sung and much radio was listened to. We were contemplating going swimming but with subzero temperatures we got our heads thinking about warm fires instead.

The hike was close to home here in Uppsala. More specifically we hiked from Länna to Knutby (both located slightly east of Uppsala). As you expect by hikes in the southern parts of Sweden you get to see a lot more than just woods and forests. Hikes are usually very varied going from complete wilderness to going into and out of small towns.

Hiking to Knutby was not a coincidence either. We simply didn't look at a map and said: we want to go there. No Knutby is currently the center of attention when it comes to small villages in Sweden. There was a famous murder in 2004 that got a lot of attention and recently there was a HBO series made about the happenings in Knutby.

On other notes I've been thinking of getting back into making YouTube videos as I have more time now and need to spend it on something. I'm also part of a newly founded Instagram account so please give that a follow (where you might see more pictures than what you see on my regular ig)

I've been quite inactive the past months but that doesn't mean I've had any less time outdoors as seen by me and my gnome friends here.

I've recently moved to Uppsala to study at the Swedish university of agricultural sciences (studying biology and environmental sciences) and hence I am and will be spending less time in the mountains and more time in the forest.

I do miss my time in Kiruna and my time in the mountains. I hope to visit as soon as I get an opportunity to do so. I already have plans of going up there to do some hiking next summer.

I currently live together with 5 great housemates and am really glad to have found myself amongst such great people at my university.

I hope everyone is staying safe now that Corona is on the rise again. Take care of each other ♥️

1️⃣ This popular quote was fittingly uttered by Dag Hammarskjöld, a Swedish diplomat that served as the Secretary-General for the United Nations from 1953-61 and the trail we hiked bears his name.

2️⃣ Being a part of Kungsleden (The kings trail) Dag Hammarskjöldsleden (The Dag Hammarskjöld trail) has its start in Abisko National park and end in Nikkaluokta and is one of the most popular mountain hikes you can do in Sweden.

3️⃣ Although I've already done this hike once before back in 2018 I decided to do it once more since I had people new to long hikes in mountain terrain. It's a very kind hike with many mountain huts and little to no need of using a map and compass as the trail is very well kept and marked.

4️⃣ During the eight days I spent together with Sam (), Pontus () and Assar () we had rain about every day except for the first two but then we had to trade that for respectable amounts of mosquitos instead.

5️⃣This trip also included the highest mountain in Sweden: Kebnekaise. A mountain I've visited two times before but without success of a summit. This time, even though the weather was the worst 🌧️I've had on the mountain we managed to get all the way to the top 🏔️ (a video of the entire final summit push will be uploaded).

6️⃣ Being on treks for prolonged times are probably my favourite type of adventures. Keeping your phone off and being able to detox from the everyday worries and problems. On the contrary the mountain hikes can also be a great time to be able to reflect and think about how to go about certain conflicts. No matter how you use the mountains I'm convinced that it's a healthy way of taking time off.

🏔️ Comradeship help build mountains 🏔️

On the 29th of April me together with and Loke Flygare tried to summit the highest mountain in Sweden during winter conditions.

Although Kebnekaise only being roughly over 2000m the Arctic conditions, snow storms and high avalanche risks make the mountain a lot more technical. Thankfully we ended up having quite good weather throughout the entire trip. If you ask some of us we might say we even had weather that was too good.

Together we also ended up filming and putting together a mini documentary (link in bio and can be found on my YouTube channel). We thought it important that in these days the people that can't experience the outdoors get the opportunity to be outside from the comfort of your own bedroom.

I won't tell too much about how the climb went since the documentary already goes through the entire thing. But it was a blast of a trip nonetheless.

Adventures have taken a turn to the south. This time the destination was the north of Greece. More specifically: Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece.

This time the attraction was not the mighty Mt. Olympus mountains or the beautiful towns around northern Greece but rather a specific Russian sweet that strangely is only found in Greece at this time of the year.

Spending time with has been quite magical. Since our first message 2 years ago we have been become great friends and finally getting to see each other was strangely familiar. She is truly an amazing gal and I hope our ways will cross many times in the future and that our promises will stay true.

Even though my primary goal was to meet Alisa I also had the privilege of meeting and the rest of Alisas family which was much nicer than I expected from a Russian family. Nonetheless I felt very welcomed and had a very nice time during my two weeks down in Thessaloniki.

No matter where we place our feet there are always places to explore.

In my situation that now applied to Stockholm. I have explored most of the popular hiking trails around the capital but this route I had left out due to lacking communal connections to the end of the route.

3 days we were out freezing in the humid rough weather that is the usual of "winter" in the capital of Sweden. We did a lot of freezing even though the degrees were not as low as we are used to having lived in Kiruna for some years.

We began our hike the first day late and ended up having to walk after sundown. Thankfully we both knew this first part of the hike since before so we eventually find our way but in the dark rainy conditions it was definitely more exhausting than it needs to be have we started our hike earlier As we arrived at the first campsite we were greeted by firewood and a empty cottage with a stove that we could seek refuge in so all was not bad.

Second day was all the more exciting since we would now explore a part of the trail we had before not hiked. It was still cold and ice covered most of the lakes and the ground was wet. Boots were covered in mud and we were quite tired after a relatively cold morning.
The second day was overall a very good one with many new locations being discovered. We did notice that fewer people were swimming in these water though. The trail markers were fewer and walking the wrong way was quite easy at times which is not something you want to do when you're already cold and frustrated and want to arrive at the next camp.
Making fire here was harder because of the wet firewood and we ended up sleeping in the tent instead of the pre built shelters on the trail. Even with this it was very chilly and cold and we ended cutting our hike the next day by some kilometres to get some heat.

Happy holidays my good friends. It's that time of the year where we gather with friends and family to celebrate some light in these dark times.
Strangely enough this occurs after the winter solstice in my town or Kiruna. Even though we technically still live in the polar night every day is a little longer than the last.
These are happy times my friends and don't forget to show some appreciation to your fellow comrades.

It's that time of the year again where I get to attract frostbite, go nights hungry because fires wont start and learn to love the flashlight.
Winter has really begun for real up here in Kiruna. I dont have the sadistic relationship with the cold as many think I do. I actually despise being cold and hate it to its fullest. So many activities become difficult when you start to become cold. All the mind is thinking about is getting warm. Food, good mood and a sensible brain comes second hand when you are losing the feeling in your hands.

While this quote from Gary Snyder might be a bit clingy it couldn't be said in a better way for people like myself.
When I first started hiking I thought of the outdoors as a hostile and unfriendly environment, which it is in many aspects, but as I've done many hikes throughout the years since I started it all comes to feel like home.
Sometimes I catch myself thinking of it as more of a home than my usual suburban living.
I've been described as unmoving, untouched and in many senses I am the same as the mountains I climb. The usual "teenage philosophy" have never really occurred to me and I believe myself to have skipped that part of my teenage years.
Home should be where you can be yourself, and it's better yet if you and your home are one and the same.

A mountain goat only needs little time in the mountains to learn to climb.
Now, even though we did not perform any climbing I think the saying still applies since our visit to the viewed lake was short lived. 40 minutes was spent which also included an obligatory swim. I wouldn't call it the most comfortable swim I've ever performed seeing it was -4°C and wind speeds of up to 15m/s.
But even in cold mountain conditions it is still great to having access to the mountains and being able to bring out the mountain goat inside.

🌌 In a town of sparkling lights 🌌

Taken yesterday from my flat in Kiruna, Sweden.
I was suprised to see the Aurora sparkling since the predictions told me that it was a relatively small chance to see the northern lights.
But there they were. Sparkling outside my window as I was brushing my teeth getting ready for the bed. But such circumstances require you to stay up just a bit longer to enjoy and be mesmerized by the tails dancing on the sky.
