You have to stand on it to believe it! The Giant’s Causeway is believed to be formed 60 million years ago from lava that cooled here so evenly it cracked into near-perfect hexagons. Legend says Finn McCool built it to cross the sea and fight a Scottish giant. Geology says cooling contraction. Standing on it, the legend feels more likely.

This is a stitched together image of the Vasa. It isn’t just a ship. It’s one of history’s greatest time capsules ever found!

Built as Sweden’s most powerful warship, the Vasa set sail on August 10, 1628… and sank less than a mile into her maiden voyage. After resting on the floor of Stockholm Harbor for 333 years, she was remarkably recovered in 1961, with over 98% of the ship made from the original timber.

Standing before this 17th-century masterpiece is hard to describe. A trip to Stockholm isn’t complete without a visit to this museum! Every carving, cannon, and beam tells a story of incredible craftsmanship, ambition, and the lessons learned when pride outpaces good engineering.

Today, the Vasa Museum preserves what is considered the world’s best-preserved 17th-century ship, offering a rare opportunity to step back nearly 400 years into Sweden’s naval history.

A reminder that even history’s greatest failures can become its greatest treasures.

From the drone’s vantage point high above the Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe, the landscape turns into a living topographic map, an endless maze of tidal creeks carving dark, sinuous lines through the neon-green marsh. The North Sea’s pulse is written everywhere below, each channel a signature of currents that flood and retreat twice a day, reshaping this drowned land in slow motion. As the drone hovered in the soft evening light, I framed this scene to show that delicate tension between wild chaos and quiet order. A place where water, time, and gravity are the true artists, and we’re just lucky enough to witness their work from this uncommon vantage point.
