Depth of field

This landscape really sticks with you. White powdered sugar ice cream, solid, shaped but smoothened from the underlaying ground. Under meters of snow there lays rocks, boulders, streams even trees and bushes. All covered by this white magic. To call this a home for a week or two is not only a blessing, it’s a necessity for me. It’s mediation and medicine from a modern life, trivial stress and overall unwellness. It gives you perspective, meaning and a presence that is sometimes so hard to find today. Being in the moment, every step is an effort, the aching muscles and bones are craving sustenance and your mind is focused and sharp. It truly is the best!

In the mountains embrace!

There is something special venturing untitle heart of a mountain massive or out in the arctic during winter. The silence, the grandeur and the inhospitality. In one way I’m home, but without both knowledge and the reliability of the modern way of good solid gear it would be harsh or deadly.

The beauty is unfathomable, the glisteing snow changing contrast with the clouds. Everchangeing but always the same. Storm winds punishing you, steep slopes that makes your knees and arms feel like falling off dragging 70kg upwards. And then the most beautiful views you’ve ever laid your eyes upon. It’s a journey of ups and downs, harsh and brutal. But the same result everytime, just pure god damn bliss and thankfulness!

Back from the cold!

Have had a few busy weeks of both traveling and work but now finally I’m back in business. And gonna get busy sharing all these adventures I’ve been through over the last couple of years. So many pictures and moments frozen in a frame that I’ve wanted to show that has been laying on a hard drive.

This is a snap from the Nallo valley that we passed going around the Kebnekaise massive couple of weeks ago. Mesmerizing views and my buddy had his first experience in these cold harsh conditions. It was a epic journey.

The hut beneath the mountain

The trip to Jotunheimen has really settled now and I can reflect with cheer joy and excitement for the accomplishment and for next year adventure.

It’s always a great physical ordeal doing these expeditions, and we are good at only remembering the easy parts sometimes. But for me it’s really the hard parts that stick. The opportunity to push yourself to a limit and then go beyond. We might fail but we might just succeed, and the effort makes it worth it all.

The sights are mind blowing and a true privilege to witness. Looking forward to the pain and misery with my boys next year as well, as always.

Jotunheims true colors

Hidden beneath the snow and clouds, up on the heights, the glaciers peak through. It’s truly a magical place and I long for coming back every time I visit there. The home of the giants and trolls.

Dunes of cold

The vastness of things can sometimes be hard to comprehend or just overwhelming. Like the beauty of nature or just things like life in general.

My only hope sometimes is that is i do the most with what i have and will get. Not trying to figure everything out. One step at the time.

These dunes in Norway was like smooth silk, a velvety blueish hue caressed by the orange late sun. And like an ocean it’s immensity is colossal. Yet we navigate it. Just trying to get by and to it for the better!
