Jag var bildredaktör och fotograf för The Times och BBC i London tills jag flyttade till Sverige för fem år sedan på jakt efter ett lugnare liv. I och med tvillingfödseln ett år senare upphörde drömmen om ett lugnare liv, men väckte min kärlek för familjefotografering. Att fotografera barnen under uppväxten har blivit en riktig passion. I mitt gamla liv i London, samarbetade jag med artiste

r som Jay-Z, Kylie Minogue, Kevin Spacey, Eminem och Stephen King. Men nu blir jag mycket mer entusiastisk av att fånga spänningen i en växande, blomstrande familj. Uppmuntrad av vänner och familj, har jag nu beslutat att erbjuda porträttfotografering till familjer i norra Sverige. En Donna Richmond fotosession är mycket mer än bara att ta trevliga familjebilder - du kommer att vara med om en underbar familjeupplevelse med en fotograf som har arbetat med artister som Eminem och Kevin Spacey och vet hur man får dig och din familj avslappnad. Jag kommer att guida dig om hela processen genom att ge dig tips om vad man ska ha och hur man förbereder för fotograferingen - Jag se till att alla är helt bekväma så att ni verkligen kan njuta av fotograferingen. Donna Richmonds fotosessioner är alla på den plats du väljer och tar vanligtvis 1-2 timmar. Vi kan antingen fota i bekvämligheten i ditt eget hem (så länge det finns tillräckligt med naturligt ljus), eller en ömsesidigt överenskommen plats utomhus. Jag ägnar ca 8 timmar totalt per kund och försöker ge en trevlig upplevelse som kommer att ge dig vackra bilder och varaktiga minnen.

Selma & Josef.

En helg så full av kärlek att den knappt får plats i ord.

Josef and Selma’s three-day wedding celebration in Arjeplog was such an adventure.

The journey there alone was memorable. I met plenty of reindeer along the way and got to discover a part of Sweden I’d never explored before.

And when I arrived, I discovered a wedding that was so completely them.

Josef and Selma did things exactly as they wanted. Okay, perhaps they didn’t order the rain… But everything else felt wonderfully, unmistakably personal.

They got ready together, surrounded by friends, laughter and a few bottles of champagne. The result was one of the most relaxed weddings I’ve ever photographed.

I’m used to making lightning-fast decisions at weddings, and this one was no different. The rain refused to give up, so while we waited for it to ease, we made use of Josef’s mum’s beautiful flower-filled uterum.

And honestly? Sometimes the unexpected moments become part of the magic.

This wedding was joyful, relaxed, a little wild, completely unique and absolutely magical.

One I’d happily experience all over again.

Wednesday’s solar eclipse came with a plan. ☀️🌑

Caitlin, Leila, Leah, Mary, Paul and I decided to see if we could watch the eclipse reflected in a disco ball.

And, apparently, this is actually a thing. ✨

Each tiny mirror on a disco ball can act a little like a pinhole camera, creating tiny projected images of the Sun. During an eclipse, those little projections can even show the Moon passing across the Sun.

Very clever.

Did we manage to see it properly?

Well… let’s just say the disco ball and the eclipse were not entirely playing along. 😂

In the end, I had much more fun photographing the girls instead.

And honestly, I’m not complaining. The evening light was spectacular, the disco balls were sparkling, and these four were far more photogenic than our slightly questionable solar experiment.

Sometimes the best photographs happen when the original plan doesn’t quite work. ❤️

The best photographs aren't really about photographs at all.

They won't remember what they wore.

They probably won't remember that someone was taking photographs.

But years from now they'll remember running through fields together, the warmth of the sun on their backs, and a childhood that felt endless.

Those are the moments I love to preserve, alongside the family portraits that will hang on your walls for years to come.

And as summer soon draws to a close, I'll be swapping wildflower meadows for branding shoots and business portraits.

The funny thing is, I'm looking for exactly the same thing in both: genuine moments that tell a story. Whether it's a child exploring the world or an entrepreneur building a business, the best photographs are always the ones that feel real.

Family, laughter, ice creams… and getting a little closer to the ground. 🍦✨

I absolutely love photographing families. There’s something wonderful about stepping into their world for a while – especially when that means lying on the grass at children’s eye level while they enjoy a well-earned ice cream.

Lisa, Maja, Emil, and their children, together with their mum Anneli, were such a joy to photograph. The kind of session filled with genuine moments, connection, and lots of fun.

Summer is made for family time, sweet treats, and creating memories that can be looked back on for years to come. ❤️

Some weddings stay with you long after you’ve packed away your cameras.

Photographing Emma and David’s wedding was one of those days.

Their love for each other was impossible to miss. Every glance, every smile, every little moment in between… they simply adored being together.

Of course, no wedding is complete without a few unexpected moments.

Just before the ceremony, a gust of wind nearly carried Emma’s veil into the Skellefteå River. During their couple portraits, Emma (who has a genuine phobia of flying ants) found herself under attack by an army of them. Between almost every photograph, David patiently rescued them from the layers of her dress before we carried on.

Despite the heat, the runaway veil and the ant drama, they never stopped smiling. They embraced every moment and simply enjoyed being together.

And then came the speeches.

Just when everyone thought the day couldn’t get any more emotional, Emma and David shared the most wonderful surprise: they’re expecting a baby.

Days like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s never just about beautiful photographs. It’s about preserving the laughter, the chaos, the unexpected moments and the memories that become part of a family’s story.

Congratulations again, Emma and David. What a privilege it was to tell the story of the beginning of your next chapter. ❤️

Varje årstid har sin egen rytm.

Summer is always my busiest, and most wonderfully chaotic time of year.

One minute I’m editing branding photography for businesses, the next I’m packing my camera bag for a wedding or a family session. Honestly, I don’t always know whether I’m coming or going... and I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

Emma and David’s wedding was my first of the summer, and what a beautiful way to begin. Sunshine, laughter, a few determined ants, and one very special surprise that left everyone smiling.

One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that no two weeks ever look the same. One day I’m helping a business tell its story through authentic branding photography, the next I’m quietly documenting one of the most important days in a couple’s life.

Different stories. Different pace. Always about people.

Det är människorna som gör det här jobbet så roligt.

Förra veckan fick jag hänga med ett av de härligaste teamen jag träffat på länge på The Wood Hotel by Elite här i Skellefteå.

Vi fotograferade runt om i hela hotellet, flyttade möbler, testade idéer, skrattade mycket och utmanade ibland både kreativiteten och nerverna.

Det här klippet visar bara en av platserna vi fotograferade på.

Högst upp i Sara kulturhus klev Wimon ut på glasavsatsen som om hon gjort det hundra gånger tidigare. Själv gjorde jag mitt bästa för att inte titta ner alltför mycket höjder och jag är inte direkt bästa vänner.

Det jag uppskattar mest med sådana här uppdrag är samarbetet. När människor vågar bjuda på sig själva, litar på processen och har roligt tillsammans händer det något framför kameran som inte går att regissera fram.

Jag älskar före- och efterexempel.

När Ellinor på HR Nordh kontaktade mig hade hon redan en bra webbplats. Men den berättade väldigt lite om personen bakom företaget.

För mig handlar varumärkesfotografering inte bara om att visa vad du gör, utan också vem du är.

Tillsammans skapade vi bilder som känns som Ellinor – professionella, varma och personliga. Bilder som hjälper hennes kunder att få en känsla för vem de kommer att möta redan innan det första samtalet.

Det här är något jag ser ofta. Många företag lägger mycket tid på texten på sin webbplats, men glömmer att människor vill se människorna bakom verksamheten.

För i slutändan köper vi sällan av en webbplats.

Vi köper av människor.
