Stones are never alike, yet we call all of them stones — they’re still within one ”family of matter”, so to speak. They may be made of different material, giving them various colors, hardness. And they have all been shaped differently by the elements through time.
Some have been rounded by the ocean, rolling off each other in the water. Other’s are rugged, cracked or otherwise chipped. Some are small pebbles, others are boulders and some even parts of mountains.
Still, they are all stones. We can learn about their history if we would take the time to study them — we might even learn something about our own history.
Do we judge a stone for it’s size, color, the matter it’s made of, or where we found it?
I would guess that the general answer is: no.
Stones are what they are. And with time, they change. Some are used to build houses, others make roads, some just exist as they are. We don’t expect a certain purpose or value in a stone’s existence, and neither do the stone.

What else can we take away & learn from this?
