Last nights sunset over Wareham was something pretty spectacular and just kept going and going !!

Walking back home I ended the evening chasing the beautiful crescent moon in Pleiades (the beautiful little cluster of stars beneath it) through a gorgeous old tree ❤️ ✨

Last winter I photographed this ski jump tower in Övik with the sun behind it and ever since have really wanted to do it with the moon which is a much harder challenge!! Well, this morning in the rather cold -21c standing 1.85km away on the other side of the town running up and down snow banks to dodge trees and buses it all lined up and voila! 😍✨

Ockso!! Mikel, trevligt att träffas! 👍🏻 😅

It's not often I get frustrated with a tree but having to find gaps through this tree blurred out in the foreground to make this image align whilst standing on a steep bank was challenging to say the least. Luckily this little Starling sat still long enough that I could capture it in front of the moon :)

I'm forever blown away by the built in stabilisation in modern cameras and lenses, this was shot handheld at 400mm literally on my tiptoes with my back in a hedge! 😂 ✨

After the "through the keyhole" shot with the sunrise at Durdle Door a few days ago the theme continues with spotting the moon through a tiny gap of the last of the autumn leaves basked in beautiful sunset light!

A gorgeous crisp frosty morning this morning catching the first light of the day rising over Wareham ✨ ❤️

The beautiful first golden rays of the day through the arch down at a pretty quiet Durdle Door this morning ❤️ ✨

It's a relatively short window to catch this shot, maybe 3-4 weeks of the year either side of winter solstice when the sun rises through the archway so it can get quite busy with people travelling from all over to test their luck! This was my 6th or 7th trip down over the years and probably the least cloud I've ever seen on that horizon! Lovely that it was so quiet too, only 6 of us! ✨

Pretty chuffed to say that I’ve been short listed for Weather Photographer of The Year!! 🤩🤪

I took this image last winter in the north of Sweden whilst lying on the frozen sea trying not to get wet on the edge of this puddle of melted ice to capture these incredible Mother of Pearl clouds reflected around this beautiful old Swedish house ❤️✨

These are pretty rare clouds (couple of times a year if lucky - took 3 years before I saw them) only visible in northern latitudes in winter when it’s really cold and it’s literally like the sky is photoshopped in front of you, probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen, mother natures finest ✨❤️😍

Last nights full moon rising behind Corfe Castle again as the horizon looked too hazy for a different plan. A much easier alignment this time, no tree climbing required! 😂 ✨

I've been quietly trying to get a full moon fully enveloping behind Corfe Castle for what feels like FOREVER!! Tonight I got the closest I've ever got and it was AMAZING!! ✨✨✨

This takes so many variables to pull off, the weather, being available, the moon always rising in a different place where you might not make line of sight!

I nearly DIDN'T go out, the horizon was a bank of cloud but I couldn't stop thinking about it so out I went and wowzers! So much gratitude! ❤️ 🙏🏻 ✨

As ever, a massive thankyou to PhotoPills! 🙏🏻✨
