There's something unique about every wedding, but how many brides make their entrance on a motorboat to the sounds of ABBA? With faerie lights in their hair? How many weddings kick off with a late morning brunch in the courtyard of a splendid Spanish villa? How many include an inflatable unicorn?

This one was definitely one-of-a-kind, culminating at sunset on the Playa Del Charcon in Mijas. The reception had the usual speeches, but also a gigantic paella.

Definitely beats your everyday church ceremony!

There’s something especially powerful that comes out when photographing a newborn and their family: a tiny human that’s only been alive for a few days, the people taking care of them whose lives have just changed forever. All of that blazes through in these shots of little Dante and his family.

When an old co-worker, Daniel Beretta invited me to his wedding , I offerred them a free couples' shoot as a present. A year later, they took me up on that offer.

Instead of "doing a job", though, I got to spend a wonderful evening strolling around Uppsala with this infinitely nerdy couple, and Albin Stjerna who volunteered to assist with the lighting.

On our last day in Belfast we got treated to a drag show that happens every Sunday night at the Shoe Factory in Belfast's gay quarter.

The decibel level was typically Belfast; I had earplugs but could hear everything as well as if I were wearing headphones. But Karen got us front-row seats and I was able to catch all the amazing performances on camera. I was especially impressed by Trudy Scrumptious. The lip synching, the facial expressions, the hilarious use of props, everything was spot-on. But that doesn't take anything away from Glitzy Glamour or Pauletta. They were amazing, too.

I've known Jill C Faulkner and Dean Faulkner as a couple since I first started dating Jill's brother, Andreas. I've watched them grow personally and in their relationship; working out all the quirks and kinks that always start to grate against each other once you decide to make a real go of it. And I've always been astonished by how resilient their relationship has proved to be. There's always been this shining core of love, tenderness and understanding that outlasted any temporary spat.

So it seemed only natural that they would get married, that it would be in Northern Ireland, and that I would be photographing it. It ended up being the trip of a lifetime

To celebrate 10 years of marriage, my brother-in-law Christian and his wife Ida held a small celebration in their backyard featuring food, drinks, gifts, games and an adorable baby. Oh, and don't forget crazy hats!

It started out simple: A sweet and kindly mare, Waccra, had had complications birthing her foals and needed to be put down. Her owner, Helena Lennartsson, wanted some last portraits to remember her by. But like most equestrians, the house and stables were full of animals, and I had to get them all!
