Found these on the drive and I’m right back in the cold🥶

Chasing what little light there was, trying to capture how the air actually felt.

This was deep winter, the coldest stretch, when the sun barely made it over the trees before it was gone again. Funny thing is, it was also a winter we barely shot. It got so cold that taking the camera out meant taking my gloves off, and after a while I just stopped reaching for it. So most of this winter only lives in our heads now.

These few made it out. Now it’s summer, hands are warm again, and the camera is coming with us 😄☀️

We leave Friday. Six weeks on the road, working as we go. 🚐

People imagine it’s one long holiday. It’s really not, but that was never the point. We built a life where the work comes with us, so it gets done from a blanket by a lake instead of a desk at home. I’ll take that trade every time.

The setup mostly runs itself by now. Power stays topped up off the Aqiila solar and battery, even while we drive. I hotspot off my phone, pull the awning out when the sun gets too much ☀️, and find the next spot to sleep on park4night. Two laptops, the cameras, all the phones, and somehow it always stays charged.

The real skill isn’t the gear, it’s the switching. Going from fully present with the kids to disappearing into a screen and back, sometimes inside the same hour. So we give them something that’s properly theirs first, then step into our own world for a bit. Some days it flows, some days it doesn’t, and we’ve made peace with that.

It’s not always easy. But an office like this is most of the reason we do any of this. 🏕️

My happy place 🥰

For those who followed along this past year — you know. For those who didn’t: it was nonstop migraines and an abortion that hit harder than I expected. A year of figuring out where the soft spot is between living life fully and not pushing my brain past what it can handle.

We’re hitting the road again soon. Six weeks. I won’t pretend I don’t wonder if constant movement is what my brain needs right now — but then I think about our little family bubble in this tent, seeing all our loved ones, and just being together again. That thought alone is enough 😄

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up this year. You know who you are, and I can’t thank you enough ❤️

Just a blanket, two kids, and an empty shore 🌊 They turned it into everything — a fort, a cape, a place to watch the water. These are the days that stick 🤍

Easy to pack, washable, made for little explorers 🌲 For all the little adventures that become the big memories ✨

So good to be back on the road! 🙌

This week we’re driving from Åre to Ronneby and back for the Overland Adventure Expo, just the two of us, no kids. Then three weeks home, and after that the big one: a six week trip from Åre to France and back, this time with the kids.

A car, your home on the roof, your living room under the awning. That’s the whole setup, and honestly it’s all we need. 😄

What we brought:
Three boxes of cooking gear
A stove
Camping furniture
A battery and solar panel
A fridge

That about covers it! And then you find a spot like this one, by the water, sun out, and you realize there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.

More often than you’d think, I get the question: what even is a rooftop tent? How does it work? 😄

It makes me realize — not everyone has slept on the roof of their car yet. So here’s my honest answer.

A rooftop tent is high and dry. It’s the freedom to park and sleep wherever you want. Your blankets and pillows live inside the tent year-round, so the second you pop it open you can basically dive straight into bed. 🙌

Here’s what a rooftop tent evening looks like, in whatever order feels right to you 😄

🗺️ Step 1:
Find the perfect spot. Take your time here. It matters.
🍺 Step 2:
Crack a beer open. Priorities.
⛺ Step 3:
Pop the tent, pull out the ladder, set a few poles in place. Done in minutes.
🪑 Step 4:
Table, chairs, awning. Your little world, sorted.
🔥 Step 5:
Make a fire. Cook dinner. Do both at the same time if you’re feeling ambitious.
😌 Step 6:
Sit by the fire and do absolutely nothing useful.
🌙 Step 7:
Crawl into bed already dreaming about tomorrow’s camp breakfast.

It’s MAY people! 🙌 Time to dust off the gear and go on a micro adventure close to home. Just to wake that camping lover back up inside you.

Why sleep inside when you could sleep out here? Simpler. Wilder. Cozier. You already know the answer. 🏕️

Always follow the advice of locals. If you would ask me for my most important travel tip, this would be it.

We never really make itineraries. We don’t look up hotspots. We go somewhere, connect with locals, and ask them where they would go.

I’ve been traveling like this ever since I started solo traveling at 18, and somehow it still feels like the most natural way to explore, now with two kids and my adventure partner in crime 🤍

So when they tell you, like they did in this case, to climb more than 400 steps (418 to be exact 😄) in Ålesund… you just go for it.

And like most good advice, this one was more than worth it.

Watching the fjords and the city from above during golden hour felt almost unreal. One of those quiet moments where time slows down for a second. Everything feels right. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

And maybe that’s what I love most about traveling like this. Not chasing the highlights, but finding these small, unexpected moments along the way.

Thank you Stranda and Ålesund for such a beautiful week. And thank you Norway for always feeling a little bit magical 🏔️

This was part 4, the final part of our Stranda stories. We hope to be back one day for that knee-deep powder. Until then, we’ll hold on to these memories 🤍

As you might have read in part 1 and 2 of our Stranda trip, the snow wasn’t as deep as we expected… so we decided to go exploring ✨

We headed to the beautiful city of Ålesund 🇳🇴

After a devastating fire in 1904, almost the entire city was destroyed and later rebuilt in a unique Art Nouveau style, which is what makes it so incredibly beautiful today.

We spent the day strolling around, enjoying the views over the water 🌊, stopping for good coffee ☕️ and ice cream 🍦, and just soaking up the vibe of Ålesund.

I love living in a small ski town, but every now and then it’s nice to step into a bit more life and energy again, even if it’s just for a day 🤍

I would highly recommend visiting this city if you’re ever in the area while traveling through Norway.

Stay tuned for part 4, the final post of our Stranda trip, where I’ll show you our absolute favorite part of the city 👀

We came to Stranda chasing powder… but got something else instead.

Here we go, part 2 of our Stranda story…

Like I said in part 1, things didn’t go as planned. We came to Stranda hoping for that big dump of snow, the kind of knee-deep powder we were craving, but it never really came. We were simply unlucky.

But that’s the thing with holidays. Whether you’re chasing snow or sun, there’s always a chance the conditions won’t be what you hoped for. It might rain, it might stay cloudy, or the snow just doesn’t show up when you want it to. That’s life, we can’t control everything.

We still had one day with a small layer of solid fluff (or as Scandinavians call it “concrete powder” 😅). We hit the snowpark, enjoyed the jumps, but most of all we enjoyed the time together 🤍

Because in the end, isn’t that what holidays are really about?
The quiet moments. The hugs. The smiles. The joy of just being together, without the rush of everyday life.

And that’s exactly what we did. The four of us, enjoying life, both in the .no cabin and out on the mountain 🏔️

And honestly, it was pretty amazing.

Stay tuned for part 3… where we ended up doing something we definitely didn’t expect on this trip 👀

From the moment I first strapped into a board at 18, snowboarding became a cornerstone of my life. For a long time, it was my solo escape. When I met Val, she was strictly on skis until a few years later when I taught her how to board. She fully embraced it after our kids got out of the diapers and now, it’s come full circle.

Ziggy has officially joined the boarding crew, and seeing the four of us carving out memories together is everything I’d hoped for. 🏂

We got incredibly lucky with the conditions in Saalbach two weeks ago. There is honestly no greater joy than hearing my daughter shout about how much she loves “fluffy snow,” or seeing the pure pride on my youngest’s face after conquering his first-ever blue run.

And of course, seeing Val truly catch the bug and constantly pushing to level up her riding makes these trips even better. Thank you universe ❄️✨
