Thinking about the land has always been part of the work.

In Black electronic music, we’re often placed in the city.

But our connection to the land runs deeper than that - you can hear it in the music.

For Hagan’s EP, this was about shifting that image,
returning to something ancestral.

There’s an idea that being in nature isn’t for us.
But the body remembers. 🌱

Cornrows tight, patterns proud,
roots speaking loud.
From Harare streets to village lanes,
these braids carry sunshine and rain.
Every twist, every coil,
woven freehand, bare and bold,
Africa’s crown rests upon her soil,
heritage flowing through each line and spiral.
