Grace | Naboisho Conservancy, Kenya

We're in the depths of nursery decorating and, in the knowledge this was coming down the tracks, I spent a lot of time on safari last year looking for moments that might live on our baby's walls.

and I were in Naboisho together last year and spent perhaps an hour trying to line these two giraffe up with the cloud above them, the patient driver through all of this listening to "forward a bit, backwards a bit".

This was the first safari I'd been on after finding out we were having a baby and my first chance to work on some prints for him. So finally, eight months later, the print is finally up in Arlo's nursery. Still unsure if he actually likes it.

WE ARE WILD - LAUNCHING JUNE 1ST

Many of you have seen the posts about We Are Wild already. Launching on June 1st it's a brand new print store exclusively for the guests I guide on my photo tours at Fortescue Safaris.

So often I would discuss the idea of selling prints with my guests around the camp fire. Always I would hear the same answer - I just never have the time, or I don't know where to start.

Images were never meant to sit on hard drives, photographs are created to be printed.

There is some truly stunning work to get your hands on on June 1st and I can't wait to share it with you all.

Lessons in Minimalism

One of my favourite parts of guiding is starting to spot certain situations that suit some of guest's image styles. Knowing what people have come for, what they're hoping to shoot and how they think really helps. So as I spend more time with each guest the easier it is to stop us at sightings that achieve their goals.

and I have now been on three trips together and her high key work I LOVE - so even when we were in separate cars at the same sighting last month I fired off a few shots figuring we could compare back in camp. Sure enough when I showed her the image later she told me - "Yep, I was shooting that too."

I rarely shoot in high key due to an unhealthy obsession with clouds (and mating lions, apparently) but once in a while, why not.

Instagram seems to be demanding video content now more than ever, so here's another shot from Namiri Plains last month. Starting to see the gold amongst the complete rubbish I shot and hard at work creating a new print collection to share with you all soon.

I'm just starting to delve in to the last six weeks of images from Amboseli and the Serengeti. The editing process often takes months - a combination of not wanting to look at any images to soon (best to let the emotion of the sightings wear off so you can view your images more objectively) and also simply finding the time. As soon as I return from any trip the office side of my job takes over and the creative one gets knocked to the side.

Many, many more images and clips to share soon, just as soon as I get round to it!

Thank you so much for shooting this on the leg of our safari in October last year. Excited to be back here later this year as part of an auction prize for Ol Pejeta - guiding a couple of kind donors that keep the vital work moving forward.
