Sustainable development starts with reliable water systems. 💧✨

We had the privilege of documenting the incredible work done through the Isoko y’Ubuzima project, a collaborative initiative led by Water For People Rwanda alongside USAID, IRC WASH, CARE International, VEI, and AEE to transform water, sanitation, and hygiene across Rwanda.

From rehabilitating 33 water supply systems to training over 500 WASH professionals and healthcare workers, this project goes far beyond infrastructure. It’s about building lasting capacity, improving community health, and securing clean water for generations to come.

This World Refugee Day, the global theme is "Until Everyone Is Safe", and safety isn't only about shelter.

Sometimes it's a solar lamp that keeps a street lit after dark. Sometimes it's a fridge that keeps a small shop running, or a pair of clippers that keep a barber shop open.

In Rwanda's refugee camps, unreliable appliances make daily tasks a constant struggle. CLASP, in collaboration with Practical Action, is working to change this.

Families told us what changed once reliable, energy-efficient appliances arrived: children studying later into the evening, businesses staying open past dusk, daily earnings nearly quadrupling, streets that finally feel safe to walk at night.
