Vladimir Neimorovets Photography Wildlife photographer, finalist of Russian and international photo contests, published in National G My name is Vladimir Neimorovets.

I’m a wildlife photographer and a professional entomologist with field experience. I passionated for photographing of nature at the age of 14. From early childhood I spent a lot of time in the surroundings of my home, as my home was placed almost on the border of the settlement. So I know quite well for the ecological and biological characteristics of animals and plants that I photograph, as well

as the features of natural complexes in which my objects live. And on some of my photos you can see little-known aspects of these objects' life. I also have a collection of images of rare species listed in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation, as well as in the Red Data Books of the Subjects of the Russian Federation. Some of these species are rare and protected for Europe. On the other hand, I always experiment with lighting and composition to create expressive images. And, finally, I always try to shoot stories. You can also find pictures of landscapes of Russia and some adjacent territories, which do not so often fall into the sight of view of other photographers. In my photos I want to show and tell what is interesting for me at first and that has been fascinating me since childhood. Now I haven’t a clear specialization. Earlier I photographed exclusively insects, but I gradually expanded my range of interests and now I shoot almost all natural objects from a macro scale of 5: 1 to landscape panoramas. The most interesting region for me is the North-Western Caucasus. This amazing place of the Earth is very densely populated, there are many environmental problems. But how many incredible discoveries await here at every step!

The western conifer seed bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) is a dangerous pest of pine forests. It is a North American species, which was introduced to Europe in 1999 (Northern Italy). Now it is widely spread throughout Europe. Leptoglossus occidentalis was registered in Russia in 2009. Russia, the Northwestern Caucasus, Krasnodar Territory, near Dzhankhot / Сосновый семенной клоп (Leptoglossus occidentalis) – опасный вредитель сосновых лесонасаждений.

The European dodder (Cuscuta europaea) is a parasitic chlorophyll-free plant that does not have roots. Dodder braids other plants with its reddish or yellowish stems and sticks to them with special suction cups and sucks out the juices of the host plant. Dodder looks like some kind of alien from science fiction stories. It came to planet Earth and quickly spread across it, parasitizing aboriginal life forms. For Russia, the European dodder is a quarantine w**d. In the photo - the dodder stuck to the rough cocklebur (Xanthium strumarium). Russia, the Northwestern Caucasus, Krasnodar Territory, near Ilsky.

It saddled a «stallion»... The nymph of the red velvet mite Allothrombium fuliginosum was attached to the daddy longlegs (Phalangium opilio). Allothrombium fuliginosum. A leaf fell from the birch. On this leaf, the newly hatched larvae of some bugs. I suppose that these are the birch catkin bug (Kleidocerys resedae). These bugs are doomed, as the leaf began to dry out, and the nearest birch is about a hundred meters away. The birch catkin bug cannot feed on herbaceous plants. Predators are another threat. The harvestman (Phalangium opilio) is already here and began to devour these bugs one by one.

«Don’t touch me! » Marsh treaders (Hydrometridae) often fall prey to water skeeters (Gerridae). And I was sure that now there will be a murder at the moment when the Toothed Pondskater (Gerris odontogaster, right) jumped to the marsh treader Hydrometra gracilenta (left). But the murder did not happen. The Toothed Pondskater hesitated for a few seconds, then jumped over the marsh treader and rushed away. Russia, Leningrad Province, Vyborgsky District, Bolshoye Rakovoye Lake / «Не тронь меня!» The bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata). It is believed that this plant got the Russian name "Watch" because it, as it were, "keeps watch" in the swamp. Its white flowers are clearly visible at dusk and warn: "This is a swampy place, bog!" Russia, Leningrad Province, Vyborgsky District, Bolshoye Rakovoye Lake / Вахта трёхлистная (Menyanthes trifoliata).

The marsh treader (Hydrometra gracilenta). This is a predatory species. It feeds on small arthropods and can catch small crustaceans and mosquito larvae at the moment when they rise to the surface of the water. Russia, Leningrad Province, Vyborgsky District, Bolshoye Rakovoye Lake / Палочковидная водомерка (Hydrometra gracilenta).
