This is the unique Duga radar - a massive Soviet early-warning system hidden inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Known as the "Russian Woodpecker" for the tapping noise it sent across global radio frequencies, it sparked Cold War theories of mind control and weather manipulation. It wasn’t on any map. The secret city around it was simply called Chernobyl-2.

Getting here takes effort. The climb up rusted, decaying ladders is not easy. But standing above the clouds, with the Chernobyl reactor visible in the distance, makes it worth every step.
