Wherever they go and whatever they do, the people of Gorj always carry the impression of the water and mountains back home, the image of the Endless Column connecting the earth and the sky, on the background of the stone fortress of Parâng mountains, the memory of spiritual tranqulity which can always be found in the Tismana or Lainici monasteries, as well as countless other precious memories.
