Today we meet Siemens Smartron 192-024 and 192-025, of GFR, traditional for the traction of trains connecting the oil centers in the Ploiești, Bucharest and Constanta areas. The two arrived together with 192-026 at the end of 2025. More Smartron locomotives are to arrive at GFR at the end of the year, and in August we will see 192-023 of Unicom Tranzit.

Reloc Craiova and CFR Călători conducted tests today with the 12th ELASMO locomotive modernized with PNRR funds, after locomotive number 11 was completed two weeks ago, both of which are set to enter service this month. The locomotives will be operated by the CFR Călători Craiova section. The tests were conducted on the Bucharest - Cernavodă route, pulling 16 wagons to prove locomotive traction performance at a speed of 160 km/h.

Softronic Craiova is moving forward with the modernization project with PNRR funds, this evening locomotives 481-014 and 481-015 arriving at Gara de Nord, so that next week they can carry out the final tests and handover to CFR Călători. Softronic has only 4 locomotives left to hand over from the batch of 19 units modernized with PNRR funds, most likely the next two will be released towards the end of March, and the last ones towards June.

Locomotive 481-014 pays homage to actress Lucia Sturdza Bulandra, and 481-015 to doctor and biologist Ioan Cantacuzino.

This morning, the first two Alstom Coradia electric trains of Interregional Călători arrived in Bucharest, part of the contract with ARF, CSP-L2, which provides for the operation of 13 Alstom Coradia electric trains by the operator from Cluj. The RE-IR101 014 and RE-IR101 015 trains arrived at the Bucurestii Noi station, and will be moved to the Alstom depot in the Grivita area this evening. The operation of the trains by a private operator under a public service contract is a first for Romania.

Today we see Alstom Coradia Stream RE-IR101 010 in Gara de Nord. Endurance tests have started on the Bucharest - Constanta route. Units 11, 12, 13 have also arrived, and 14 and 15 are on their way.

Yesterday, 31.01.2026, PESA brought two more RE-R103 EMUs to Bucharest, reaching 7 units of this series arrived. They arrived at Baneasa Station with Siemens Ta**us 1116-025 as traction, to be taken over by a CFR Marfa locomotive to Bucharest Obor. Deliveries will continue and we are on the ground to constantly present them.

Alstom Coradia Stream RE-IR101 009 in tests on the Bucharest - Constanta route

A series of images of PESA RE-R 103, unit 102, physically the sixth EMU brought by PESA to Romania. There is also one from the RE-IR batch, thus the PESA railcars arrived so far reaching the 7-unit mark. The train arrived with Siemens Ta**us 1116-027 of OBB, through the subsidiary Rail Cargo Carrier Romania, in Gara Băneasa, from here being taken over by a CFR Marfă locomotive to Gara Obor, where PESA is temporarily parking the new trains.

Today we meet for the first time Siemens Smartron 192-026, part of the batch of 3 locomotives arriving at the end of 2025 for GFR. These are 192-024, 192-025, 192-026. This year another 5 Siemens Smartron units will enter service in Romania, with several operators.

Some images of the locomotive EA 40-0855, withdrawn from service for several years following a fire, currently at Reloc Craiova for modernization with PNRR funds, to become ELASMO series 482 and be allocated to the Pitesti - SELC Craiova depot.
