Entering into the main lane (straight lane) from the free right lane exposes you to a traffic fine of QR 1000 + 7 of day’s vehicle imprisonment.

Heavy Fog and non-adherence to Safety Instructions Cause 113 Accidents

113 traffic accidents were reported this morning of Tuesday, January 19, 2016, due to heavy fog and non-adherence of traffic rules that to be followed on adverse weather conditions. No deaths or serious injuries were reported in these accidents which took place in Al-Khor Coastal Road and Shamal Road specially at Umm Qarn Intersection.

The competent authorities in the Interior Ministry had took many necessary preventative measures to prevent more accidents. Patrols were deployed in many roads to stop traffic movement temporarily in some areas and to enhance safety measures in some areas that have suffered widespread dense fog. Patrols also initiated task of moving the damaged cars from the highway and then worked on the return of traffic to the usual nature.
