Two lovers who belong on a fashion magazine cover, two sculptural bridal dresses, a handful of film rolls, a house with a Portuguese soul, and a lot of voglia di "mettersi in gioco". No real English for that one. The urge to throw yourself into the game and see where it takes you.

Because when you do, documenting and building stop being two different things. A world that's hybrid, half real and half imaginary. I'm still just following what happens inside it and staying true to it. Isn't this the magic of photography after all?

The beauty of Sophie and Jordie. The beauty of their people. The beauty of film.

Film limits you in a lot of ways. That's the constraint, and also the point. A roll of 36 frames, no instant review, no going back. It forces a different kind of attention. And sometimes the imperfect scan that arrives a few days after the wedding is the closest thing to still being there.

S&J trusted me completely: with their day, with their people, with every idea I wanted to try. That kind of trust makes the work feel like something else ❤️
