The preparation for the Solar Eclipse next week! Test shot of the sun taken through my telescope, and testing all the equipment and my imaging plan before we set off to the Castile & León region.

"Carrying the Light"
It's incredibly humbling, for me to be standing at a site that's 6000 years old. This is a Neolithic dolmen (burial mound), that was converted into a Christian chapel in the 17th century. I'm standing where countless others have stood before me, looking up at the same night sky, catching ancient light from stars millions of light-years away.

IC 1396A The Elephant Trunk nebula, located in the constellation of Cepheus, about 2,400 light years away. This is the result of 8.3h from Santa Susana, a Bortle 4 site, significantly darker than my backyard.

This has been an elusive target for me, which I've attempted to image many times over the last few years, only to be disappointed because it is quite dim and either needs a LOT of integration (exposure) time, or imaging from a dark sky site.

The Cygnus Wall portion of NGC 7000, the North America Nebula. With the new Optolong L-Synergy filter, I am now able to collect S-II data, and produce the full Hubble-style SHO colour palette. I also used a new 0.7x Reducer for my Askar FRA400 telescope, increasing the speed of the optics to f/3.9 and a wider focal length of 280mm which lets me frame this up a bit better showing the nebulosity around that area.

Went out to an abandoned military facility with a few other photographers last night. Was hoping for clear skies and visibility of the Milky Way, but that didn't really happen due to clouds and severe light pollution from the nearby city of Setúbal, so we ended doing some long exposures and light painting instead.

to a lake in a dark sky site, and pointed my camera and telescope to the sky. This is what I captured.
