There’s a version of Tróia that only shows up right before service starts — condensation on the glass, the table not quite set yet, someone folding napkins in the sun. I like that moment more than the finished one. 🌊

Some towns get two weeks to host the whole world, then quietly go back to being just a mountain town. Livigno, February 2026 — the Olympic course still fenced off, the streets already back to dog walks and last rounds at the bar. The circus moved on. This one stayed.

Some places exist in two registers at the same time: the quiet mountain town it always was, and the stage it briefly becomes. Cortina d’Ampezzo, February 2026 — alpine village turned Olympic arena, where coats of arms share walls with podium dreams, and an ice sculpture stands in the sun like it belongs there. Both versions are real.
