But he chose to set his professional career as an
architectural photographer. His work has been published in Portugal
and all over the world, by collaborating with national and
international magazines, such as Wallpaper, Icon, Frame, Azure,
Monocle, Mark, Bauwelt, Ait, Arquitectura e Construção, and many
others. Flirt and romance... This is the connection that the architectural
photographer José C
ampos develops in his work. His photographic
process requires a gradual approach, of observation and affection with
the building in cause, like an interpersonal relationship. First he
studies the place and captures the essence of it, observing all the places and corners, saving all the images just in
his mind, later materializing them with the camera. It's a technical and emotional search to enhance the features of the
building and exalt his nature, capturing all the emotions
and feelings, that will lead to pictures full of life. Life that is
also boosted by placing people on the scene, and life that is
metamorphosed through the games and control of light in the volume
and patterns of the buildings. The light of the early evening, is one of his favourite moments to
shoot. The blend of purples and oranges just before nightfall, which
releases and enhances the indoor lighting.
