My name is Daniel Davis, I'm a contemporary classical music composer, but as a hobby I love photography. uCapture Series was created to document the results of the street, photo journalism and landscape photographies I will be taking over the next period of time

This was a very lucky shot from the top of Angle Tarn towards Martcrag Moor and Thunacar Knott in the Lake District.

After sunrise by the Sprinkling Tarn, I started the journey towards Grasmere without the intention of taking any photo until sunset, but at around 10am the light was still great, the clouds and the mist were low enough that I immediately thought about this black and white shot.

No tripod, handheld with the 135mm. Sat for a minute, compose and shot it. So simple yet so rewarding!

Early this summer I managed to head north to photograph some of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK. These are the stunning views from Sprinkling Tarn looking down the Wasdale Fell. Excellent conditions on a very early summer morning!
