I took a ride out to the country last night to try to capture the northern lights, but I'm not convinced I accomplished much of anything. What you are seeing was not visible to me, it's the result of a long exposure and some post-processing. I don't even know if the little streak in the middle of the pic was a shooting star or an airplane (prob the latter). Hope I get a second chance tonight, but this far south, I doubt it. The one thing that did stand out was the number of stars I picked up vs what was visible to the naked eye pre-pic. I am having some serious FOMO.

Found a little time to get out and be a tourist for a change. Glad I got the full effect and was able to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge with a low-hanging fog.

This photo is a complement to yesterday's Hurricane Sally photo. While Sally's drama was unfolding to the east, this was the subsequent view to the west. Too bad they didn't occur simultaneously, would have made a hell of a panorama. But then I wouldn't have had time to set up for them individually, so maybe it's better this way. Maybe. What I do know is that it was a timely last-minute decision to get down to the beach and give it a go.

Not my usual kind of shot, but I've been to this park twice in the last week looking to capture a sunset shot and neither visit failed to disappoint. So I stuck around a little later til the lights came on and tried this one instead.

The line of smoke stretching across the sun didn't accentuate the sunset as much as I'd hoped, but eh, whatever.

Apparently, the alligators have a sense of social responsibility, after all. Either that, or the turtle shamed them into it.

The alligators aren't bound by social distancing guidelines, which is good, because they really don't like being told what to do.

Sunset from a couple evenings ago. Took me awhile to get it finished because my computer is a few generations old and this was probably its last assignment. Well, next to last. It has to hang on long enough to find its replacement!

When passing by this location the first time, I commented how there are often small alligators found here, just not today. When passing back through, nature had righted itself.
