It’s been a little while since I’ve posted, but I have someone very special I’d love for you all to meet.
This is Theodore Charles, better known as Teddy. He also goes by Mr. T and Teddy Roosevelt, although I’m not convinced he knows any of those names just yet.
I’ve only had him for a week, and somehow I already can’t imagine life without him.
He’s not quite three months old, but he is incredibly smart. Potty training has been going so well. He’s the sweetest little snuggle bug whose favorite place to sleep is on my head or curled up around my neck. He follows me everywhere and has quickly become my little shadow.
He’s also quite the little hoarder. Every toy he can find, most of which belonged to his angel big sister Charlotte, gets proudly carried into his crate like he’s building his own little treasure collection. He recently discovered bananas, and frozen blueberries have become one of his favorite things. He spends just as much time playing with them as he does eating them.
After three years without a dog, I can’t fully put into words how wonderful it feels to be a dog mom again.
Losing Charlotte was one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life. There will always be a piece of my heart that belongs to her. Welcoming Teddy into my life hasn’t replaced that love. It has simply reminded me that our hearts are capable of loving again in a new way. It feels so good to laugh again, to have little paws following me around the house, and to experience this kind of unconditional love once more.
I’m completely in love with this little boy, and I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of Teddy around here.
If you’d like to follow along with all of Teddy’s adventures and daily antics, you can find him over on Instagram at . I have a feeling there will be plenty of puppy content to come.
