Riaño. A picturesque village set in the Leonese mountains in northern Spain. As in other mountain villages fascinates the landscape, fascinates nature, fascinates the sound of this place ... And on this particular day after a 2 km climb through deep snow in which each step weighed to advance the path, fascinated the color of dusk projected on the white mantle that covered everything as far as the eye could reach ...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

With the "Entrudo" shrouded in flames in the background, the "careto", a mysterious and diabolical figure who agitates the streets during the carnival festivities in Podence, Portugal, celebrates in euphoria the end of the winter and of the old year and everything bad that happened in it, as well as the rebirth of spring and a new cycle of life.
The figure of the "careto" is part of an ancient tradition declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2019. During the Carnival days, single men embody the spirit of this creature, wearing quilt suits with colorful fringes and with rattles attached to their waists. The mask that hides the man's face behind the “careto” allows pagan freedom at the doors of sacred Lent.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Magical - Sintra National Park, Portugal

What is the meaning of magic? I believe this picture is a pure definition of what is magic... A palace, in bright colours, on the horizon, surrounded by a dense forest with autumn tones and smoothly kissed by the mist. The pink sky reflected the golden hour at the end of another day in the Sintra National Park and made me wonder what fairy creatures will come in the night in this magical place.

At the bottom of a dead-end road - Poncebos, Picos de Europa, Spain

At the bottom of a dead-end road, some of the most iconic mountain trails start at the Picos de Europa. A restaurant of strong and bright colours, it is strategically positioned to feed the daring who venture and delight to travel the miles of the mountain. The reflection of the human construction, in the crystalline waters that run along the same miles of the mountain, caught the attention of my eyes and the click of my camera…
