You've probably noticed that I haven't been very active here since 02/17 and the main reason is that I've just been too busy and honestly lost interest in social media as a whole. I have no website and don't reach out in terms of advertising. Worldwide word of mouth has always been enough to keep me going. I never intended to become a monster structure in the production playground.
As you will be able to see here from my joblist since 2015, I've managed to grow the RISE+SHINE brand in quite an exponential way. 2018 was the pinnacle year with Portugal being the go-to destination for European clients and many more. 2019 brought operations back to normal, then 2020, although starting off well, brought us Covid-19... Throughout this process, there have been noticeable shifts. Budgets began to shrink. Low cost became key. The ability to adapt and reduce overheads became essential. My main aim was always to offer clients a friendly, family vibe and try to make work feel like fun, but always contributing to a top notch professional end result. So a sustainable core setup that can be extended to match the needs of big jobs, collaborating with colleagues with whom I have particular affinity and friendships. I've been exploring for a while now, ways to apply my skillsets and know-how to other domains and have actually begun to materialize this, to a certain extent, through collaborations with my dear friends at Ant-Productions from Belgium. The past year has been quite an ordeal, mostly exterior factors and circumstances leading to the demise of the company behind R+S. Roller coaster would be the understatement of the century... Strangely enough, Covid-19 and lockdown were the most positive factors in the process. Putting a handbrake on things enabled me to think things over, renew old contacts and friendships and also create new bonds. Amidst all the ambient chaos and confusion, I've been able to develop a brand new mindset or maybe just unleash it from where it had been incubating inside me, waiting for the right time to reveal itself. It may not seem very obvious at the moment but I firmly believe that MUCH BETTER TIMES are coming and we need to be the ones that embrace and shape the New Normal and not wait until any "leaders" shape it for us! I played with the idea of rebranding to Phoenix Productions but I don't actually have to change and RISE+SHINE isn't just a name, it's an attitude so it's staying! All this has brought me to a place where all sorts of amazing things are happening on all levels and I've been approached by many like-minded people and it's raining opportunities. Shortly, I'll present a new collaboration that's beyond exiting. At this point, I want to say a huge heartfelt THANK YOU to all the friends I've been very fortunate to make along the way. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!❤️❤️❤️
