Not every wedding needs a ballroom.

Sometimes, all you need is Lisbon, your favourite people, incredible flowers, and a rooftop with one of the best views in the city.

This intimate destination wedding at Varanda Rooftop, Hotel Mundial was the perfect mix of elegance and pure fun. Heartfelt vows surrounded by vibrant florals, cocktails overlooking Lisbon’s rooftops, and a relaxed afternoon celebrating with their closest family and friends.

Then came one of my favourite moments… everyone jumped into tuk tuks, turned up ABBA, and cruised through the streets of Lisbon singing at the top of their lungs on the way to dinner. No stress, no strict timeline—just laughter, music, and memories.

The celebration finished in one of Lisbon’s beautiful modern restaurants, proving that the best weddings aren’t about following traditions—they’re about creating an experience your guests will never forget.

Penha longa Sintra church destination wedding. People I take in my heart. Set in the magical hills of Sintra, Inés and David chose Penha Longa Resort for its unique combination of elegance, convenience, and breathtaking surroundings.

With many guests traveling from abroad, having the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and accommodation all in one place made the experience seamless for everyone. Combined with exceptional service, incredible food, and the romantic atmosphere of the Sintra mountains, Penha Longa was the perfect setting for their destination wedding in Portugal.

Their ceremony at the church was especially memorable, warm, joyful, and filled with laughter thanks to the wonderful connection they shared with their deacon.

From London to the Portuguese coast, a destination wedding wrapped in soft spring tones and seaside light. A beautiful couple, floral design full of texture and colour, and a wedding dinner setting that turned Forte da Cruz into something truly special. Later, we escaped to the sea for portraits with the fort standing quietly in the background. Ocean air, soft evening light and those in between moments that always end up meaning the most.

A beautiful American destination wedding in Sintra, Portugal. A day that perfectly captured why so many couples choose this magical place for their destination wedding in Europe.

The ceremony took place in the historic Chapel ruins at Monserrate Palace, one of the most unique wedding locations in Sintra. Surrounded by nature and history, it created an unforgettable setting for two people traveling from the US to celebrate with family and friends in Portugal.

Afterwards, we explored the gardens around Monserrate for portraits, with the palace as a backdrop, mixing timeless moments with fun group photos and lots of genuine laughter.

Dinner was hosted inside the incredible Music Room of Monserrate Palace, where the grandeur of the space and exquisite design created an atmosphere that felt both elegant and intimate.

And then the celebration moved to the Chalet — where everyone absolutely gave everything on the dance floor. The kind of party no one wants to leave.

One thing destination weddings constantly remind me: choosing the right team matters. Local knowledge makes a difference. Understanding the palace, the gardens, the best light, the flow of the day, and all the small details can completely change the experience. Nestled in the beautiful Dordogne countryside, Château La Gauterie is the dream destination for couples looking for an elegant yet intimate château wedding venue in France.
The day started with a romantic ceremony at the Gatehouse, surrounded by beautiful traditional architecture and the relaxed charm that makes this place so special. Guests then gathered for cocktails on the château terrace, enjoying the stunning countryside views, mingling, and celebrating together.
One of the highlights of the evening was the beautiful champagne tower, where the couple toasted with all their guests during cocktail hour.
