Not every day you get to spend the day on the Tagus river with Lisbon in the background.

For this shoot, I joined a boat tour along the river, photographing the experience from the boat and getting a different view of the city.

I also got the chance to get in the water and photograph from there, which made the shoot even more interesting.

A few photos from the day.

Pedro with his Opel Corsa at Power Arena.

Away from the noise of the drift event, these moments often go unnoticed a project built over years, and the quiet pride of the person who made it.

Here, he shares stories about his life and the work he put into the blue Corsa. Proof that simple things, done with real motivation, can mean a lot.

Outside of commissioned work, I try to use photography as a way of exploring unfamiliar environments.

Festival Power Arena at CNEMA, Santarém, was one of those occasions. Went with the fellas , and King Silvestre . My first time photographing drift and drag approached with the same documentary mindset I bring to any subject.
A selection from that day.

Thanks to Ricardo Varalonga | Photo for all the support, and to an incredible community of people who are just as passionate about cars.

In Greater Lisbon, the housing market continues to change rapidly under ongoing pressure and gentrif**ation processes.

This article focuses on two residents from Cape Verde, Betinho and Nilza.

In 2022, I met Leonardo, a beekeeper in Portugal’s western region. What started as a single photographic visit evolved into countless returns, always at different hours of the day. With remarkable generosity, he opened his world to me, sharing not only his expertise, but the quiet, profound relationship he maintains with his bees.

Time spent beside the hives transformed how I see these insects. Far more than producers of honey, they embody a delicate, often invisible balance between people, land, and ecosystems, one that sustains much of life as we know it.

This body of work is the result of those encounters. It does not seek to explain beekeeping, but to observe it patiently and document the understated gestures, daily rituals, and deep dedication that define a craft both demanding and essential.

The project remains ongoing. I continue to seek out other beekeepers, eager to learn from those who have devoted their lives to this ancient practice.

For this assignment along the Arrábida coastline, I spent the day in a support boat, moving alongside the kayakers and getting as close as possible to the experience itself.

Working at water level changes everything: the scale of the cliffs, the movement of the group, the light dancing on the surface, and the constant challenge of protecting both the equipment and the moment.

These images are part of a commission documenting a kayaking journey through one of Portugal’s most impressive coastal landscapes.

Over time, attention moves away from the spectacle and towards what happens around it. People prepare, wait and rest. Moments of pause between periods of intensity.

What takes place in the ring is only part of the work. Much of it happens outside. Between training sessions and matches, it continues.

Grande parte acontece fora dele. Entre treinos e combates, continua.

I kept coming back, not for the spectacle, but for what happens around it. The training, the repetition, the way bodies learn to trust each other.

Nothing here feels accidental. Every movement is built over time, shared between people who rely on one another.

Spending time in these spaces, what stands out is not just the performance, but the work behind it.

Between training and matches, this is where wrestling continues to exist.

Continuei a voltar, não pelo espetáculo, mas pelo que acontece à volta dele. O treino, a repetição, a forma como os corpos aprendem a confiar uns nos outros.

Nada aqui parece acidental.

During my youth, wrestling existed on a large, almost square television.
For me, it only lived on that screen.

Years later, I found an active scene in Portugal.

Wrestling has been present in the country since the 1950s, but today it survives mostly through an independent circuit — built on daily training, physical discipline and collective effort.

Following this work, I found a community shaped by practice, proximity and mutual support.

Between training and live matches, wrestling in Portugal continues to exist.
