I don’t post portraits of my self often, but when I do, I try to make sure I look as cool as possible ;)

Thanks to for snapping this while we were in Portugal last week.

I shot some fun video of my time in Lisbon, Portugal and I’m stoked to share some of it soon. The Nikon Z9 is great for walking around capturing video! The high res RAW file let’s you capture bold color and the in-body stabilization allows me to shoot from the hip and get ultra stable shots. 👌

Cannot wait for these two new lenses coming to the Nikon lineup. I remember trying to shoot with a competitors 85mm f/1.2 and it was terrible slow to focus and missed often. However the image was incredible when it was in focus. I can’t even begin to imagine how solid this lens and the new mirrorless bodies will stack up.

I’m also a massive fan of the slim profile “pancake” lenses. The help turn my working camera into a more casual street photography style camera that begs to be brought everywhere I go.

I’m very happy to see where the advances in technology within camera gear has helped photographers take better images, quicker and more efficient than ever.

posing outside of for the Dance Your Style competition.

Few weeks back I was shooting for Red Bull and took a series of dancing portraits. This was one of the first gigs I was able to use my new Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 Z series lens. That lens paired with a with a gridded soft box held by none other than , helped me create this portrait.

That’s a lot of tags, a lot of mentions, but what I love most about photograph is being on assignment and getting many things in motion that you normally would be able to pull together on your own. I was asked to shoot 16 different dancers all within 90 mins and because I had my off camera light and assistant, I was able to create some really fun images in an incredibly fast-paced environment.

Thanks + for helping create the next series of images I’m going to share! 🤙

From time to time I like to mention some of the equipment I use to capture still and moving images. Nikon cameras have been in my hand since I began learning about photography and I’m honored to be someone they consider to be an ambassador of their gear. I enjoy the fact that my Nikon Mirrorless cameras enable me to shoot both photo AND video. One to rule them all!

With that being said sometime the company as a whole hits some fun milestones and achievements that they share with their ambassadors. One of the most recent high marks was awarded to the Nikon Z 7II. It was given a sensor score of 100 by DXOMark. DXOMark is a private French engineering company located near Paris. They specialize in the measurement of camera, audio, and display quality of all types of consumer electronics.

In summary, I’m making a giant long post about this because many times I have friends and peers who ask me why I enjoy shooting Nikon and I typically speak about my personal experiences and and the creative elements that they allow me to achieve. For some people that’s a great reason and explanation but for others who are more detailed and spec based, I think this write up and explained scoring system might help them understand exactly why these cameras can perform and produce images of the highest quality. So this post is for those who want and need a resource that goes behind a the manufacture and basic handheld experiences of camera reviews.

This image of was shot with the Nikon Z 7II. Be sure to give them a listen!

has a new photo challenge this month. Share your neon shots and tag your photos or video with and for the chance to be featured by Nikon!

Personally I love a good challenge. At times I’m more motivated to capture images if people assign me with a task to capture something specific rather than me wondering out and shooting everything and anything. If you’re looking to push your self and have some fun photo goals, try participating and see if you can snag a feature!

Really happy to share this set of images from a recent engagement shoot with + . We shot at which is where Riley first introduced me to Olivia. They spent a lot of time getting to know each other here and felt like a great spot to capture this engagement. Y’all look perfect together!

Team photo of in their new location in Calumet City. This was particularly fun because this was my first shoot with the new Westcott lights. We put two up on high roller stands and since they’re wireless and battery operated, we were able to roll them into position to pop off light quick and not sacrifice quality. Wilder Fields are good folks on a great mission.

Today I took a stab at recreating an image I have of drummer Gene Krupa hanging from my wall. I used a strobe light to stop the motion of my hands while the camera’s shutter was open for a one second exposure. I also used my flash with a snoot positioned on my face.

I used my phone and Nikon’s SnapBridge app to trigger my camera. Set on a 10 sec timer. Shot on a Nikon Z50 and NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 S. The strobe light was some $12 purchase from Amazon.
