🇵🇹 More than just waves ... The real Portugal awaits in the Backcountry! Many only come to Portugal to surf and miss out on the true culture. 🏄‍♂️ When I travel here, I want to experience the whole country! My absolute insider tip: Drive up to Monchique! ⛰️ Visit the old monastery, dive into history, and hike up to Picota. From up there, you have the best view over the entire Algarve. With Foehn winds, you can see as far as Spain in the south, far into the north, and with a bit of luck, you might even think you can faintly spot Morocco on the horizon. 🌍🦅

Pack away your board for a day and check out the hinterland. It is worth it!

Sometimes the waves roll in gigantically big, sometimes the wind whips them up fiercely, and then they slam against the coast with this incredible, raw power.
