On its significance, sharing an inscription on a monument on the western most point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca, by the most revered Portuguese poet Camões "Aqui.. Onde a terra se acaba.. e o mar começa" - "Here.. where the land ends.. and sea begins"

June 10 marks the Portugal Day, also called Camoes day and the day of Portuguese communities. On this day, sharing the largest bridge in the EU which spans 17.2 kilometers and connects the northern and southern parts of Portugal. It's named after Vasco de Gama, the explorer who connected Portugal to Indian subcontinent and paved ways for Portuguese domination in the world for centuries to come.
