Why do I deliver some photos in black & white?

1. Black & white removes distractions.

Sometimes color pulls attention away from what truly matters. In black & white, your eye bypasses color and goes straight to the emotion & atmosphere.

2. Harsh Algarve light can become magic but also is tricky.

The sun here is often strong and bright. But with the right approach, black and white with bold contrast can turn harsh light into something cinematic, dramatic, and full of character.

3. Sometimes one detail deserves all the attention.

A hand. A tear. A dress motion. A quiet glance.

When something little is important, black & white can help the viewer see it first.

4. Minimal photos often feel stronger this way.

Simple compositions, empty space, silhouettes - they often become more nostalgic and expressive when color disappears.

5. Simple - I’m a melancholic, emotional girl.

And yes, I love moody black & white photographs ;)

If you’re not a fan of black-and-white photos or if they have a different meaning in your culture, just let me know during our welcome call. I want your gallery to feel beautiful and meaningful to you!

She said yes.

Then she laughed, looked at the ring about 47 times, held him tighter, ran into the wind, and forgot there was a camera for a moment.

The yes lasts one second.
The photos last forever.

Why don’t I believe in overly polished poses and a world full of performance?

Because we are humans.

And humans are not perfect.

We sneeze.
We sweat.
We smell like the sea after running through the waves.
We fail.
We laugh with our whole face and double chins.
We have bruises, wrinkles, scars, weird habits, messy hair, tired eyes, soft bellies, nervous hands.

And somehow — this is exactly where beauty lives.

Not in pretending to be ideal.
Not in performing some perfect version of love.
Not in becoming a clean, polished, robotic copy of an AI-created Pinterest board.

I don’t want to photograph you as a concept of what a couple “should” look like.

I want to photograph your spirit

The way you hug each other.
The way you snuggle when you forget the camera.
The way you laugh when you share inside jokes.
The way your body adjusts to the closeness of someone you love.

You just need to believe that what you bring - your realness, your tenderness, your chaos, your awkwardness, your love - is already enough.

That’s all that will make your photos YOU.

Behind every proposal I photograph is a man pretending he's completely calm.

He never is. 😄

That's why planning matters.

The location, the timing, the privacy, where to stand, where I hide, how to keep it a surprise.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is to be present when it happens.

When you have this list, bridal portraits become so much easier!

Here is the list when is the best time to take bride portraits.
Short windows, calm light, zero theater posing.

1. Right after getting ready
8–12 minutes by a window. Makeup is fresh, room is quiet.

2. Before the first look
5 minutes in a clear hallway/doorway.

3. After the first look
5 minutes while emotions are high and guests aren’t around.

4. During couple portraits
take 10-15 minutes solo for soft, focused frames.

5. Golden hour
if timing allows, step aside for 10 minutes in low sun.

6. If no daylight
doorway or lamp edge-light, overheads off, 5 minutes.

7. After ceremony as a part of group photos
one “exhale” portrait away from guests, 5 minutes.

8. In-between moments
Need 5 - 10 minutes to exhale? Blame the photographer. We’ll slip out, breathe, and make a
few calm frames.

This Partner Chet Sheet is your shortcut to a beautiful Maternity Photo Session.

Save this for him!

● Keep your front pockets empty
● Hands: flat, gentle, no fists
● Watch for watch/bracelet glare
● Take off smartwatches if you can - they will date the photos later
● Look at her more than the camera
● Ask “comfy?” every few minutes
● Float your hand on the bump - don’t press
● Stand on the wind side to block hair from her face
● Tuck one strand if it’s covering her eyes (ask first)
● Carry the tote and swap shoes for stairs
● Offer a hand to stand up - spot her on rocks
● Chat with the belly
● Hug her a lot

If anything feels off, we pause. Comfort first

10 not obvious questions to ask your wedding photographer before signing agreement.

1. What’s your approach on the day - mostly observing or gently guiding?

2. How do you prepare if you don’t know the venue or location?

3. Can we see full wedding gallery - not just highlights?

4. How do you handle different light conditions? Are you ok with shooting in a harsh light or darkness?

5. Do you help adjust the timeline so the day still breathes?

6. How do you keep us relaxed without theater posing?

7. Do you work from shot lists or is your approach more documentary? How do you handle our must-haves?

8. Can you handle family photos fast and painless?

9. What’s your backup plan - gear redundancy, memory cards, second shooter, emergencies?

10. Do you offer a sneak preview, how many photos, and what’s the timeline?
