Couldnt wait to show you this. Back in December I had the privilege of photographing Shelly and Nikhil’s wedding in Dallas and it was incredible. Specially since it was my first on that side of the world, but also because they are incredible human beings and they are truly i love with each other and that is really what makes me want to shoot weddings

It’s not always about exotic, faraway, or destination weddings. Back in October I had my first wedding in the Azores and what an incredible wedding that was. Besides the fact that São Miguel is surely one of most amazing islands in the world, I was truly honored to photograph another multicultural wedding and get to know such incredible people. Both american, but each proud of their different heritages, Korean and Lithuanian and the fact they both honored them was beautiful.

Been doing weddings outside Portugal for some time now and photography has taken me to so many amazing places around Europe to photograph people in love, but doing a wedding in the US, was one of those things on my bucket list. The fact is, most us grew up seeing these places in the movies and that surely inspired many of us to work in photography or video because of places like Dallas or Texas.

It’s been a while since I entered any photo competitions, but has always been the biggest platform for wedding photography. All you really have to do is drop some photos from time to time and let the community decide whether they stand out among the thousands of images uploaded daily by photographers from all over the world.

Even though I haven’t been as active as I used to, I’m grateful that some of my photos still reached the highly selective “Best of the Year” collection. And I’m even happier to share that three of them made it to the finalists for the MyWed Awards 2025 (first 3 photos) — results coming later this month. This marks the eighth year in a row that my work has reached the final stage, which feels surreal when I think back on how everything started.

Wedding photography is a form of art, and art is hard to measure — even if it has value. But moments like this remind me that my way of seeing and capturing stories still resonates and stands out from the crowd.
