Being an accomplice in a surprise proposal wasn’t on my December 2025 bingo card.

I randomly met Susi and Luca up Pico do Arieiro, while we were all enjoying the sunrise. We got talking and ended up doing a big portion of the hike together. We all went separate ways and I was just happy about this lovely encounter. But a few hours later I found a message waiting for me in my inbox.

It was Luca, telling me that he was actually planning to propose to Susi. That he has the ring with him. And that us meeting so randomly couldn’t have been a coincidence.

Long story short he asked if I’d be up for some shenanigans: setting up the surprise proposal and capturing the magic. Uhm HECK YES?!

So the games began. I messaged Susi and made it look like I was looking for a couple to shoot for a portfolio project and since we got along so well I thought of them! She was in and fast forward a few days we met in Fanal Forest for our „photoshoot“.

We wandered around until we reached that perfect tree arch that I told Luca about. I told them to stand back to back for a few shots. The cue for Luca. He got down on one knee and asked the question of all questions. Safe to say the surprise was a success. She didn’t suspect a thing before. And most importantly she said YES!!

Can’t believe the serendipities sometimes. Grateful that chance brought us all together and that I got to share this social moment. Thank you & .bker, this was magical 🤍🤍✨

Cocktail hour + mountain panorama? YES PLEASE ✨

And what is there not to love about this part of the day? Everybody is mingling, the vibe is chill as can be and the only task is to sip on colourful drinks and spend quality time with each other. That’s the good stuff, right?

Also from a photographers perspective: it’s THE time for capturing candid, beautiful moments between your loved ones. They are often small and gone in a second, but I’m always out there hunting for as many as possible.

“You’re my home” hits differently when you’ve crossed an ocean to find where you belong.

Caroline came to Canada from Brazil, building a whole new life. And when she found Riven, suddenly home meant something new once again. Not just a place, but a person. The kind of love that makes all the big moves and brave choices make sense.

We spent the day in Banff National Park, the two being their goofy, tender selves, while the Rockies did their thing in the background. Laughing, sharing their promises, getting completely lost in each other and the landscape around them.

Canada, you’re a stunner. And so are these two cuties ✨

This is what becoming the Main Characters in your own fairytale looks like ✨

Lyndsey & John dreamed of a Rivendell inspired Elopement with otherworldly nature, soft, filtered light and moments that feel sacred and peaceful. Safe to say Madeira delivered.

We were blessed with a surreal sunrise above the clouds at Pico do Arieiro, warm rays of sunlight exploring fairy forests and waterfalls. And an ethereal fog for their intimate vows below a laurel tree at Fanal Forest. A day that felt like stepping into a movie. Pure magic and the loveliest time spent with these two beautiful souls 🤍✨

Twilight obsessed people this one’s for you. Miranda and Connor’s elopement took place on Vancouver Island, at the wild Sombrio Beach on the southwestern coast of the island.

And what’s so special about that you might ask?

Forks and La Push are on the opposite side of the Strait of Juan de Fuca - only about 30 air miles away! So if we apply some girl math logic here, we were basically running with the werewolves and vampires.

Even the weather delivered that moody Twilight vibe. The ancient, mossy forest shrouded in fog. Thick clouds bringing that dark, mystical atmosphere. Not to be dramatic, but my fantasy-loving heart flipped over itself. Hello Hoa Hoa Hoa Season.

Also what a day of location scouting for upcoming elopements looks like. Solo roadtripping the island and continuously pinching myself because magical places like this exist. As someone who loves reading fantasy novels this hits home.

The first time I experienced Madeira, my jaw was practically on the floor the whole time. Burning sunrises above the clouds, misty forests, and shades of deepest green against sparkling blues. Here magic becomes a tangible, living thing.

It’s also the place that sparked my love for elopements. Madeira is where I photographed my very first one and realised how powerful this intentional way of getting married is. The island will forever be tied to that spark and forever holds a special place in my heart.

Today, my mission is to help you experience that same level of awe and excitement on your wedding day - as your go-to Madeira elopement photographer and local guide.
