Today I want to show you one of the most beautiful places in Sweden - in my opinion - that I’ve seen. I was driving along Vildmarksvägen - which translates to “Wilderness Road” - toward Vilhelmina. It’s a road that winds through stunning scenery - like this one - in central Sweden between Strömsund and Vilhelmina, near the Norwegian border. Here you’ll find lakes, waterfalls, forests, meadows, mountains, and rugged plateaus.
I took this photo in Saxnäs on the shore of Lake Kultsjön; in the background, you can see Mount Såttan (1,067 m). The roadsides of Vildmarksvägen are often lined with beautiful flowers of various colors - like in this photo. It was a quiet, lazy afternoon filled with peace and the soothing sounds of nature...

Today I’m taking you to see the midnight sun - a phenomenon that occurs only above the Arctic Circle during the summer, when the sun never sets below the horizon, resulting in the polar day.
I arrived in the Lofoten Islands the day before. The weather had been great since morning, and I was keeping my fingers crossed that it would be like this until midnight - and it was! When I got to this beach, I wasn’t entirely sure if this would definitely be the best shot, but I think the photos turned out pretty well! And finally, even though I really like long exposures, taking photos using this method against the sun is very difficult - it’s very easy to overexpose the area where the sun is in the frame.
At the end, I’m including a screenshot from the PeakVisor app. You can see the path the sun took that night.

Check out the gallery! Panorama at the end!

Today I’m sharing a photo with you from Offersøykammen (436 m above sea level) - the last place I visited during my most recent trip to the Lofoten Islands. It would take a long time to tell you all about that trip - there will be time for that later - but the weather wasn’t the best during it. It was cloudy as I was climbing this mountain and when I reached the summit. I stayed there quite a while - the view is beautiful in virtually every direction, but the one to the north is the best and most interesting.
The beach you see in the distance is Haukland Beach, and the hill behind it obscures Uttakleiv Beach - both beautiful, both charming, each in its own way. In this photo, you can see how cloudy it was after I reached the summit.
I’m also sharing a photo of a white-tailed eagle - known locally as a “sea eagle” - a species of eagle I’ve seen several times in the Lofoten Islands, but I’ve only managed to photograph it once. I couldn’t zoom more.
A moment later, the sky began to clear, and finally the sun came out, revealing the turquoise hues of the water! It was worth the wait!

There was a solar eclipse this week; in Poland, it was a partial eclipse. I watched it from a park in Poznań where the Arena is located. A lot of things didn’t go as I’d hoped, but there was one surprise: a young couple climbed onto one of the Arena’s spans right where I was photographing the eclipse. I’m sharing this photo, a photo of the sun obscured by the moon (you can see sunspots!), and a photo of the Arena itself after sunset.

Some views are particularly memorable, practically impossible to erase from our conscience. One such place for me is this view of Lake Fedaia. When I arrived in Canazei and set off on the trail that day, I had no idea that I would capture such a beautiful view and that it would remain so vividly in my memory. The visibility that day was very good, so we can see Monte Civetta in the background - it rises to a height of 3,220 meters above sea level. The whole perspective, with the forest, the road, the mountains, and the light, is something spectacular.

Tuscany in September is a place of exceptional charm. The tourist season is over, there are fewer people, it is calmer and quieter, but still warm, pleasantly warm, just right. You can then stop along the way and admire every place you encounter - like these two cypress trees.

Castello di Paraggi is a small castle on the coast of Liguria, Italy, between Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. It was built around 1626 by the Republic of Genoa to protect the bay from pirates and enemy ships. In 1812–1814, French soldiers stayed there during the Napoleonic Wars. Later, the castle became a private home. In the 1990s, it was rented by Silvio Berlusconi, a famous Italian politician, who used it as a summer house. Today, the castle is still private and cannot be visited, but you can see it from the beach or while swimming in the bay.

The Bridge of Sighs - Ponte dei Sospiri - arches over the Rio di Palazzo, linking the Doge’s Palace to the old prisons. Built in 1600 from white Istrian stone, it carried prisoners to their fate, offering them one last glimpse of Venice. Lord Byron gave it its romantic name, though the sighs were of loss, not love.

I took this photo on my way back to the parking lot from the Chiesa di Santa Maddalena in the Italian Dolomites, in the village of Funes/Villnöß. These peaks are part of the Odle/Geisler Group. Some of them rise more than 3,000 meters above sea level. The scene begins with a old, simple village fence and then transforms through meadows and forests into these dramatic, sharp peaks - what a contrast!

In the background, you can see some mountain peaks. The highest of them is Mount Aurum (2245 m), which is more than 50 kilometers away!

This is a view of Lake Wakatipu from the south. We were on our way to beautiful Queenstown, a jewel located halfway along the lake route. Due to its curvy, winding shape, and the fact that it goes up and down, this section is called “The Devil’s Staircase.”
