A magia desta foto está na baixa velocidade do obturador! Ao diminuir a captura da luz, criei esse "arrasto" que dá vida ao movimento dos pedestres. Tenta encontrar um cenário interessante e experimenta! Conta-me como correu.

The magic in this photo comes from a slow shutter speed! By slowing down the light capture, I created that 'drag' effect which brings the pedestrians' movement to life. Find an interesting backdrop and give it a try! Let me know how it goes.

Repara como as linhas claras no pavimento guiam o olhar diretamente até ao sujeito da foto. Usar a própria geometria do chão é uma excelente técnica de composição para dar profundidade e dinamismo às tuas imagens urbanas. Nem sempre precisamos de procurar o enquadramento perfeito — às vezes, ele está mesmo à nossa frente.
Usei as estruturas das obras para criar uma moldura dentro da própria cena, conduzindo o olhar diretamente para o motivo.
Experimenta procurar elementos do ambiente que possam funcionar como molduras naturais.

We don’t always need to look for the perfect frame — sometimes, it’s right in front of us.
I used the construction structures to create a frame within the scene, guiding the eye straight to the subject.
Try looking for elements around you that can become natural frames.

"A luz espera pelo momento certo | Light waits for the right moment"

A luz do sol transformou o fundo numa espécie de palco, criando o contraste necessário para destacar a silhueta.
Esperei que um motivo atravessasse a sombra — e, por um instante, luz, movimento e arquitetura encontraram o mesmo enquadramento.

The sunlight turned the background into a kind of stage, creating the contrast needed to reveal the silhouette.
I waited for a subject to cross the shadow — and, for a moment, light, movement and architecture came together in the same frame.

"A luz que escapa | The Light That Escapes"

Na cidade, os edifícios são barreiras constantes à luz. Mas são também eles que criam pequenas brechas onde ela ganha força e carácter — como nesta cena, onde um rasgo de luz transforma uma passagem banal num momento cheio de contraste e presença.
Aprende a procurar a luz que consegue escapar.

In the city, buildings constantly block the light. But they also create small openings where light becomes stronger and more expressive — as in this scene, where a shaft of light turns an ordinary passage into a moment of contrast and presence.
Learn to look for the light that manages to escape.

"Moldura dentro da moldura | Frame within the frame"

Usar elementos do próprio cenário para criar uma moldura pode dar muito mais força à composição. Aqui, o gradeamento da varanda enquadra o sujeito e cria profundidade, conduzindo o olhar diretamente até ele. Experimenta procurar grades, portas, janelas ou sombras que possam funcionar como uma “moldura natural”.

Using elements of the scene to create a frame can add real strength to your composition. Here, the balcony railing frames the subject, creating depth and guiding the viewer’s eye straight towards him. Try looking for railings, doors, windows or shadows that can work as a “natural frame.”

"Capturando o Movimento | Capturing Motion"

Usei uma velocidade de obturação mais lenta para transformar a passagem do metro num rasto dinâmico de movimento, mantendo o ambiente imóvel. Desafio-te a experimentar este truque na tua próxima saída: segura bem a câmara (ou usa um tripé) e deixa o movimento fluir!

I used a slow shutter speed to turn the passing metro into a dynamic motion blur while keeping the surrounding scene still. Try this trick on your next shoot: keep your camera steady (or use a tripod) and let the motion flow!

"Enquadramento com Reflexos | Framing with Reflections"

Compus esta cena para incorporar um mundo inteiro através dos reflexos no grande painel de vidro. Esta técnica de sobreposição guia o olhar entre o sujeito real na calçada e a cena de rua refletida, criando profundidade e uma narrativa visual cativante.

I composed this shot to incorporate a whole other world through reflections on the large glass panel. This layering technique guides the eye back and forth between the real-life subject on the sidewalk and the reflected street scene, creating depth and a compelling visual narrative.

"Quando a luz conta a história | When Light Tells the Story"

Há cenas banais que a luz transforma completamente.
Nesta esplanada de Lisboa, a luz dourada do fim do dia recorta pessoas, texturas e sombras, criando profundidade e dando à cena uma atmosfera quase cinematográfica.
Às vezes, não é o momento que muda — é simplesmente a luz que nos ensina a vê-lo de outra forma.

Some ordinary scenes are completely transformed by light.
On this Lisbon terrace, the golden light of late afternoon shapes people, textures and shadows, adding depth and creating an almost cinematic atmosphere.
Sometimes, the moment doesn't change — it is simply the light that teaches us to see it differently.

"O que me fez parar | What Made Me Stop"

No meio de uma multidão, o olhar encontra aquilo que os outros talvez nem reparem.
Ela, concentrada a fotografar o rio, tornou-se por um instante o motivo da minha própria fotografia.
Talvez seja isso que mais gosto neste hobby: encontrar beleza onde simplesmente existe um momento.

In the middle of a crowd, your eyes sometimes find what others may simply overlook.
She, absorbed in photographing the river, became for a moment the subject of my own photograph.
Perhaps that is what I love most about photography: finding beauty in an ordinary moment.
