Back in June, an ad for this event randomly popped up somewhere in my Facebook feed. I really cannot explain why, since Conway is nearly a 4 hour drive from Spartanburg, but I felt compelled to reach out and see if they needed an extra photographer for the event. I did not think I’d hear back, but within a few days, I had the kindest response, and was given an invite to come serve and worship with 2,500 women. I’m still digesting all the goodness that came from this experience on Saturday. The timing of hearing the messages from these incredible women could not have been more perfect…I know there was a bigger hand at play that nudged me to reach out and be there. What a gift this day was and a massive thank you to Langston Baptist Church for this opportunity! I hope our paths cross again one day!

I love a newborn session with a toddler. It always seems a bit chaotic, there is some fussing and some bribing, and we have to completely roll with their agendas to avoid meltdowns. I sometimes leave newborn sessions with a toddler thinking, “Dear Lord, please let me have captured SOMETHING on this camera for this precious family.” And then, as I begin to edit and string the session together, I can almost hear the Lord laugh and say, “Of course you captured something!” The chaos, the wiggly toddler, and the fussing baby that needs extra snuggling….that IS the beauty and THE perfection in this stage of life. What a gift these two precious children are and what a joy it was to spend the morning documenting this sweet season!

The summer of 2021, we took the kids to a Phillies game in Philadelphia. While we were there, we realized everyone was having fun…minimal complaints and zero tears, which is unheard of in our family of five. We’re not huge baseball people per se, but since it went so well, we decided to give it another go and took them to see the Braves at the end of that summer. We packed in everything touristy Atlanta had to offer, and had so much fun that we made the decision…going forward, every summer, we’d pick a city, catch a baseball game, and go full throttle checking off that city’s “must do” list.⁣

Since that summer of 2021, we’ve done DC (Nationals), Chicago (Cubs), Boston (Red Sox), and Detroit (Tigers). This summer we hit our 7th ballpark with the Cardinals in St. Louis and squeezed every ounce out of that city we could!⁣
⁣
These city breaks have become the cherry on top of our summers. For all you other ballpark fans out there, I’m open for recommendations on your favorites, to plan for summer 2027!

When everyone’s summer plans were being finalized in the spring, and I hadn’t planned anything for us to do, I opened up the map on HomeExchange.com, typed in the week we wanted to go somewhere, and found a fantastic house available in St. Croix. I didn’t know a thing about St. Croix and wasn’t sure if a week would be too long to stay…I thought we may get bored. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m eating my words and I now totally get all you folks who love an island getaway! The kindest of people, miles and miles of colorful, photo worthy scenery, and the abundance of things to do….what an incredible week with my crew. ☀️🌴🌺
