I’ve been kicking this to the side for a long time but I’m back and I plan to stay. This has been my main project for quite a while but I neglected it for far too long. I plan on doing monthly releases now and I welcome all constructive criticism.

The way it works is that the antenna on the left (currently broken) shoots a radio wave onto a large satellite dish under it which then reflects it into the gegorian dome on the right. The crazy thing, is that the dish is a massive 1000ft in diameter. No wonder it was the largest radio telescope in the world for such a long time!

This satellite dish is located near the radio telescope. They use it to communicate with other radio telescopes and satellite to find out information about their target as it is much faster than the main telescope.

Today I experienced something on my bucket list. I was able to visit the Arecibo Observatory. It is an incredible experience up-close and I will be sharing some of my photos of it over the next couple days.
