MOD MAGAZINE VOLUME 12: ISSUE 1 – WINTER 2026 New York

“Bird Escape” may be read as a subconscious reflection of my current inner conflict. It speaks about a bird that desperately longs for freedom, yet remains tethered. In my case, to photography. The feeling of wanting to abandon everything and finally let go, while an invisible force keeps you in place. The idea of absolute freedom from creativity is both tempting and frightening in its emptiness. The camera, which once served as a tool of escape from routine at the beginning of my career, has gradually turned into a chain — one that no longer allows me to leave.

Why we afraid of to be yourself?
A photoshoot is about having the courage to admit that you are much more multifaceted than the usual reflection you see in the mirror. It is a chance to meet your true self through someone else’s eyes and to embrace this new version of yourself. After all, it’s not the camera we are afraid of — we are afraid of seeing how beautiful we actually are and the responsibility that comes with that realization.

Behind the scenes.
To be honest, I’ve been completely burnt out for the last couple of years. I reached a point where I felt like I had nothing left to give and was honestly ready to throw in the towel.
But being on a set like this changes everything. These projects motivate me to keep pushing forward, even when I feel empty. I don’t know how much longer I can keep going.
