Welcoming the Lunar New Year with fire and hoofbeats 🔥🐎

This began as a photograph I captured and then transformed into a Fire Horse — a symbol of the energy stepping into this new lunar cycle.

I’ll be honest… I don’t follow the Chinese New Year closely in my everyday life. But through school, in Qi medicine and Tai Chi, we’ve learned about the Chinese zodiac and the energy each year brings. This year’s Fire Horse is said to carry boldness, momentum, independence, passion, and big life shifts — the kind of energy that pushes you forward whether you feel ready or not.
And honestly… that feels a little too accurate right now.

For fun, we also learned our own zodiac signs — and I’m a Water Monkey. Curious, creative, always moving, always chasing the next idea. Which feels pretty on-brand when I look at the path I’ve been on lately.

I know I’ve been MIA while juggling school and work, but graduation is right around the corner. After that, I’ll be stepping into new endeavors… and you’ll be seeing much more of me this Lunar year ✨
