Next competition coming up is about Candid Street Photography. So, on Sunday I stepped way out of my comfort zone and spent an afternoon in a Brighton trying to photograph a more urban sort of wildlife than I’m used to. It was a real challenge and something I’m going to have to work on some more but here’s some of the shots I got.

Third place in last night’s “Print Panels” competition at . Panels are sets of 3 or 6 photographs displayed together with a shared theme or story. Found it really hard to pick a theme and the right three photos for this one so really pleased to get a top three finish amongst some tough competition again.

Another successful night at with two 20/20 prints this time - Winter Sparrow and Kestrel In Flight. A wide range of fantastic photos on show again in both the intermediate and advanced sections. 🤩

This week I entered my first “portfolio” competition. This meant finding photos to fit six different categories so a bit of a challenge for someone who focuses so much on birds and wildlife. Luckily I managed to pick six that I was happy with and met the criteria. As usual, the standard of entries was really high so I’m very happy to have come away with second place 🥈 and some very positive feedback from the judge and other club members.

The subject categories were:

1. Landscape
2. Record (a photo of something manmade)
3. Nature
4. Creative
5. Monochrome
6. Street Photography
