“Minek” is inviting you to Pisa!

A quick note for our international audience: Minek’s name comes from the Polish word mina—meaning a landmine. Since Polish loves diminutives, Minek is a playful, affectionate form that could be translated as “little mine.” English simply doesn’t have quite the same charming way of creating such nicknames.

And no, he’s not here to show you the usual sights of Pisa. Beautiful architecture and famous landmarks are great, but that would be far too ordinary for this channel.

Instead, we’ve uncovered something far more exciting: a remarkable piece of World War II history.

Knock knock… anyone here? Time to refresh the profile.

The Battle Buddy System is a practice of permanently pairing soldiers (sometimes in small teams) so that they never operate completely alone, especially in combat conditions.

Each soldier has a “battle buddy” — a partner who:

* monitors their physical and mental condition,
* supports them in combat,
* assists in crisis situations (e.g., injury, disorientation, combat stress),
* provides an extra set of eyes and ears.
