Ingredients
* Rabbit meat β 1 kg, cleaned and cut into pieces
* Butter β 2 tablespoons
* Cooking oil β 3 tablespoons
* Ginger-garlic paste β 1 tablespoon
* Onions β 2 medium, finely sliced
* Tomatoes β 2 medium, finely chopped
* Salt β to taste
* Black pepper β Β½ teaspoon
* Turmeric powder β Β½ teaspoon
* Red chili powder β 1 teaspoon
* Cumin powder β 1 teaspoon
* Garam masala β Β½ teaspoon
* Coriander powder β 1 teaspoon
* Chicken powder β 1 teaspoon
* Water β 2 cups
* Milk cream β Β½ to 1 cup, according to taste
Method
1. SautΓ© the Rabbit Meat:
Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sautΓ© for a minute until fragrant. Add the rabbit meat and cook well, stirring occasionally, until the meat is nicely browned on all sides. Remove the meat and set aside.
2. Prepare the Masala:
In the same pan, add cooking oil. Add the sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil begins to separate.
3. Add the Spices:
Add salt, black pepper, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and chicken powder. Mix everything well and cook the masala for a few minutes until the spices are nicely roasted and fragrant.
4. Cook the Rabbit:
Add the browned rabbit meat back into the pan and mix it thoroughly with the masala. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring everything to a boil.
5. Slow Cook:
Cover the pan and cook on low to medium heat for about 50 minutes, or until the rabbit meat becomes tender and the water has mostly dried up. Stir occasionally and check the meat while cooking.
6. Make It Creamy:
Once the water has dried and the meat is fully cooked, add the milk cream. Mix well so that the cream combines with the masala and coats the rabbit pieces.
7. Final Cooking:
Cook for another 15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the gravy becomes rich, creamy, and smooth.
8. Serve:
Your creamy rabbit meat is ready. Serve hot with naan, roti, paratha, or steamed rice.
Enjoy your rich, creamy, and flavorful Rabbit Meat!
