DHA Suffa University (Official) at Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) - World Space Week held at PAF Museum, Karachi.

Under the guidance of Dr. Bilal Siddiqui, students from DSU's Department of Mechanical Engineering won first and second positions in the National University Project Competition of World Space Week 2016. The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) organized the fair at Pakistan Air Force Museum, Karachi on October 22 and 23, 2016.

DSU’s “Hybrid Rocket Engine” secured first place and a cash prize of PKR 20,000, while DSU’s "Solar-Powered Airplane" won the second place and a cash prize of PKR 15,000.

This was DSU’s debut appearance in the prestigious event and the success of DSU students demonstrates their readiness to make their mark in the professional world, once they graduate from DHA Suffa University (Official) (DSU).

Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) Workshop at DHA Suffa University (Official).

On October 17, 2016, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) was invited to conduct a day-long workshop on multi-copter aircraft, coupled with research and collaboration parleys at DHA Suffa University (Official).

The SUPARCO delegation was headed by Mr. Mujahidullah Khan (General Manager) and included Mr. Abbas Mughal, Mr. Rana Muhammad Waqar and Mr. Arsalan Siddiqui (Assistant Managers)
The workshop began with Dr. Bilal Siddiqui showcasing various research initiatives and achievements under his supervision in the field of aerospace and mechanical engineering. The visitors were particularly impressed by DSU's pioneering work in Hybrid Rocket Engine technology and Solar-powered aircraft. This was followed by an extensive presentation by Mr. Rana Waqar on multi-copter aircraft. Later, a live demonstration of a quadcopter and octacopter was given to an ecstatic crowd of students and faculty.

Mechanical Engineering - Semester 2 students of DHA Suffa Univerisity were assigned a Hydraulic Arm Project (Group Project) as part of their final submission for their Engineering Workshop Course.

The making of the project had certain guidelines. The major aim of the project was to lift an empty Soda Can over one side of an 11 inch wall to the next.

The projects were submitted/presented on 2nd May and 3rd May 2016 along with a Project Report explaining the complete details of the project.

The following pictures showcases the creativity and intense hard work of the students who were alotted one month for the completion of the project.

TEAM DSU BUR’RAQ is a group of young and motivated students from DHA Suffa University, with the aim of representing Pakistan in internationally recognized mega event Formula SAE.
