"I am incredibly honored and excited to take on the role as the chairman of the Pakistan Academy Selection Committee, succeeding the esteemed Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy who has served so admirably for the last decade. This is a responsibility I take on with great humility and enthusiasm.

I am immensely proud of the strides our country has made in cinema. Our stories, so rich and diverse, are reaching global audiences like never before, showcasing the talent and potential that lies within Pakistan's borders. In my tenure, I am eager to contribute my bit to this ongoing journey of growth and discovery.

My immediate plan is to assemble a dynamic and dedicated selection committee. This team will undertake the vital task of reviewing and choosing Pakistan's official submission to the Oscars' “Best Foreign Language Film” category.

We have already made significant strides in this direction. Several eminent professionals have confirmed their participation, and their passion for Pakistani cinema is inspiring.

I'm eager to introduce our committee members to the public in the near future.
