A female White rumped vultures perched upon its nest overlooking the mighty poonch river of Kotli Azad Kashmir. Not knowing that she is one of the few surviving member of her clan.

The white-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis) is an Old World vulture native to South and Southeast Asia. It has been listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2000, as the population severely declined. White-rumped vultures die of kidney failure caused by diclofenac poisoning. In the 1980s, the global population was estimated at several million individuals, and it was thought to be "the most abundant large bird of prey in the world".As of 2021, the global population was estimated at less than 6,000 mature individuals.

It is closely related to the European griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus). At one time it was believed to be closer to the white-backed vulture of Africa and was known as the Oriental white-backed vulture.

The white-rumped vulture was formally described in 1788 by the German naturalist Johann Friedrich Gmelin in his revised and expanded edition of Carl Linnaeus's Systema Naturae.

It is the smallest of the Gyps vultures, but is still a very large bird. It weighs 3.5–7.5 kg (7.7–16.5 lb), measures 75–93 cm (30–37 in) in length, and has a wingspan of 1.92–2.6 m (6.3–8.5 ft).

The Indian white-eye bird, scientifically known as Zosterops palpebrosus, is a small passerine bird native to the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Middle East. With its distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and pale yellow underparts, it is a charming and easily recognizable species. Indian white-eyes are primarily insectivorous, but they also feed on nectar and fruits, making them important pollinators and seed dispersers. They are often found in gardens, parks, and wooded areas, where their cheerful chirping adds to the natural ambiance. These birds are known for their sociable nature, often forming flocks, and their acrobatic displays while foraging. Enjoying the company of Indian white-eyes brings a delightful glimpse into the avian diversity of the region.

Though largely silent, both male and female wallcreepers sing, the females generally only while defending feeding territories in the winter. The song is a high-pitched, drawn-out whistle, with notes that alternately rise and fall.During the breeding season, the male sings while perched or climbing.

A bird of the high mountains, the wallcreeper breeds at elevations ranging between 1,000 and 3,000 metres (3,300 and 9,800 ft). It is largely resident across its range, but is known to move to lower elevations in winter, when it is occasionally found on buildings and in quarries
