I'll be honest, I do not believe in the concept of Rukhsati. And whenever I share that with someone I am, 99% of the time, met by unbelieving, confused & uncomfortable stares. I'll be honest again, I find these stares very amusing. 🤭 Nevertheless, whether I believe in it or not, does not render me emotionless and this particular moment captured my heart and had me teary-eyed! A mother held her hands in dua, a daughter in tears, a brother keeping his sister under the blessed shadow of the Holy Quran & a father overcome with emotions being so thoughtfully consoled by his son-in-law; to have captured the essence of all these relations & emotions in one frame struck me with awe & heartbreak. 🥺💜
