Reflection | Gospel of the Day (Matthew 4:12–23)
“Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus calls His first disciples by the sea. They leave their nets and follow Him with faith.
Earlier, we too were at the sea, accompanying the Señor Santo Niño during the fluvial procession. As we make way through the waters, we were reminded that following Christ is not just done inside the church—it happens wherever He passes.
The cross we carry speaks of sacrifice. The candles we bear brings the light that shines even in darkness. Like the first disciples, we are called to follow immediately and to serve faithfully.
May we continue to follow the Santo Niño—in the procession of our daily lives—bringing His light to others.
Señor Santo Niño, teach us to follow You with faith, humility, and love. Amen.
