Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. It has been a while since I last updated you on my photography adventures.

I am still temporarily paused from shooting weddings at the moment. Nevertheless, there are certain opportunities that are too extraordinary to decline, particularly when a co-supplier requests you to capture and color their wedding day.

Taj, a long-time friend and fellow supplier whom I've known for several years, recently approached me with such a request.

Let me tell you, their wedding was truly one for the books. To make the experience even more memorable, I had the pleasure of co-photographing with my talented friends from the industry, Choi and Jerome. It was a collaborative effort!

'QUERENCIA'

I asked my couple if they have a specific title for their prenup shoot until they gave me the word, 'Querencia' - I didn't even asked them the meaning but rather searched it by myself.

One source has described the word “querencia” as “a place where one feels secure, ’a place from which one’s strength of character is drawn.’‘A place in which we know exactly who we are. The place from which we speak our deepest beliefs.’” It can only be found in your inner world, that place where most of us travel to infrequently, if at all. In this piece, the author elaborates that “[i]n Spanish, querencia describes the place for which one’s heart yearns; the place where one feels safe, the place from which one’s strength of character is drawn. The word itself comes from the verb querer, which means to desire, to want. Querencia is a place of ease and paradoxically (once we’ve landed there), of freedom from want.”

Times does seem to fly by when you are caught with doing something you love. I'm happy to see myself grow in this field and through time my eye in photography also changes. I just met Alex and Yam through online. Everything was settled online. We wanted to create photographs and there's no better combination with a super game couple and good place. :)

DIY Engagement Shoot: Korea

What a way to put more meaning on an engagement shoot than to do it yourself. For Carlo and Jenny, it means the where, how, when and what on all aspects of the shoot. Everything was already well thought of by Jenny. The theme was Korea-drama inspired so where else would they go but to no other than Korea. And they went there during the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. They don’t call it winter games for nothing. So they endured their own battle with the cold (-1 °C) weather. But according to Carlo and Jenny, “the cold never bothered us anyway”.

They will prove it through some frames below! :)
